I am 35 weeks with baby no 3 i had cholestasis with baby no 2 and was diagnosed with having it in this pregnancy at 32 weeks.

My liver levels were 235ish and was put on urso acid, vitamin K and told to take piriton. As the weeks have gone by thankfully they are now down to 68 (normal is 0-50) which is great as itching really settled and sleeping loads better.

The thing i am concerned about is that when i went to ante yesterday i saw a lady who told me to come off medication (urso), she said we dont now need to see you three times a week for trace or scan and i had a blood test for bile which takes two weeks to come back no liver function was done. Was also told they are not going to induce me at 37-38 weeks and let me go full term, this is a real worry as the risk of still born is increased.

I was not happy about coming off medication so called up when got home and voiced my concern and just had a phone call and was told to keep taking medication and they were happy for me to just go back mon then the following wed when i will then be 37 weeks. I am having no bloods done between now and then and they are leaving me for a week and a half befor i see any one. Has anything similar happened to anyone else or has anyone with oc been left longer than 38 weeks?

Also (sorry for dribbling on) a was going for a normal delivery but after speaking to lots of people, myself, my partner and family think it was best to elect for c-section (second daughter born to emergency section due to oc) as my partner would see his baby born and it would be controlled and calm. I was given a choice of what to have but as i have told them what i want no one is behind me and they are trying to change my mind and have a normal. HELP i have been in tears on phone to partner as all is getting too much now and just want what is best for baby!

Hi,

Know nothing about this I'm afraid but hope it gets sorted, it's not nice getting 2 different pieces of information from 2 different people.

As for delivery, of course it's upto you, but I get the impression they don't suggest normal delivery if there is risk to baby. Talk it over with a different midwife and see what she's says maybe.

Hope someone comes along with more knowledge.
