Got my BFP this afternoon. I'm so excited but I feel like I shouldn't let myself be?! Is this normal? I don't know what to do next or first!!

Congratulations!!! Enjoy the excitement! Come join us on the June due dates threads in antenatal section! And ring your Dr in the next few days to find out the procedure in your area (mine didn't want to see me, just gave me the number for local midwives to ring and book direct) it seems to vary greatly depending where you are.

Congratulations :) let yourself enjoy it :) maybe wait a week or so then make a midwife/GP appointment. For our local trust you have to have a GP appointment first.

Yey! Congratulations !

Are you taking folic acid ? If not, you need to be. Then contact your GP surgery and make an appointment to see the midwife. My GP wasn't actually that interested, just congratulated me and referred me to the midwife.

Then erm, carry on as usual. Find some books about pregnancy and have a read up if you fancy it. Look up what you're not meant to eat in pg. Try and have a fairly healthy diet. Cross your fingers that you won't be too sick!

You don't need to tell your employer until your 25th week, and many people don't tell anyone until after their 12 week scan.

My GP's receptionist gave me the midwife service's number to self-refer, so I'd recommend asking if you can save a trip to the GP. Congratulations!

Hi!

First of all Congratulations Flowers

I'm in exactly the same boat, I took a test yesterday after and got a faint bfp. Took another one this morning as I was convinced I'd made it all up, and there it was even darker than yesterday.

I feel like I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next as well Blush AF isn't due until Sunday so I'm unsure whether it's best just to wait until then and test again?

Thanks everyone! I phoned the doctors this afternoon. It would be around 2 weeks for an appointment but once I had told the receptionist what it was for she managed to arrange a telephone appointment for tomorrow afternoon so from what you guys are all saying that will prob be just as useful if not more convenient! Lol we have told both sets of parents but nobody else. I'm trying to restrain myself from getting straight onto Pinterest lol WinkWink
