Felix.

Sorry for another name thread but we're really struggling to find a name we like and this seems to be one of the few names we agree on.

TIA.

look im sorry, i have completely naffed up the thread. so, its a lovely name, but please dont call another sibling Tweetie Pie!

TooTicky · 07/02/2007 22:50

Felix is a lovely name.

colditz · 07/02/2007 22:51

cats like Felix, love Felix

brandnewhelsy · 07/02/2007 22:51

It's cat food.

MrsJohnCusack · 07/02/2007 22:52

am still REALLY confused as to why being a pets name make a name unsuitable for use (have been talking about my own dead pets baby naming theme on another thread). Ben, Holly and Tom are on those top ten lists but are perfectly reasonable names, no?

Bubbaloo, someone is bound to hate it on here and indeed in real life not everyone will like it. If you and your DH/DP like it and agree on it, go ahead and use it and don't let anyone put you off. If you try to please everyone, you'll never find anything! once he is called Felix, he will be Felix and that'll be that, soon you won't be able to imagine him as anything else and cat food will become irrelevant as plainly he is NOT cat food.

MrsJohnCusack · 07/02/2007 22:54

unless of course we're talking BOuncer - I mean pet names that are human names

puffling · 07/02/2007 22:55

I really like it. When I've mentioned it, noones agreed with me though.

wummin · 07/02/2007 22:55

You made your first mistake by asking people for an opinion!! Everyone has one but you need to get your own! The reason I say this is because I exhuasted everyone with names and got nowhere, I think children choose their own names. Go have a dream, or wait till its born - it will come!

colditz · 07/02/2007 22:56

Is Felix not derivative of feline though?

wotzsaname · 07/02/2007 22:56

a pets name dosent make a name unsuitable, and a lot of pets have human names. Its just well....bit odd.

I know 2 people who have a Max, ones a dog and ones and lovely small boy, i always think of them both when i hear the name and get confussed. But thats me.

Aloha · 07/02/2007 22:56

Lovely. But more importantly, it's YOUR choice. Don't be swayed!

Aloha · 07/02/2007 22:57

Colditz, no it's derived from the latin for happy.

Bubbaloo · 07/02/2007 22:59

Wummin-I'm perfectly fine with peoples opinions. When I was pg with Ds and told everyone he was going to be Oscar, plenty of people didn't like it,but we stuck with it.
Just interested to know what the majority of people think.

Not sure who it is I'm thinking of but I picture a grey haired sprightly old fella wearing a bow tie, when I hear Felix. Is this an old Eastenders character my brain is dredging up?

To answer the question I love the name but you need to be living in an area where it won't be remarkable. Here in South Wales it would most certainly be grounds for having your head kicked in during break. See also Sebastian and Rupert.

wotzsaname · 07/02/2007 23:02

2nervesleft LOL tough playground.

Mummy2TandF · 07/02/2007 23:05

Hiya - I really like Felix and as had already been said on here - once he is felix - he will be Felix IYSWIM! As you know mine are Toby and Freya ..... A few people said that Toby was a dogs name, and nobody really liked Freya (quite a few turned up noses and hmmm that's nice NOT) But I liked them and that's the main thing ..... I think if you like it that is all that matters and it goes well with Oscar, babies seem to grow into their names anyway - we know a Devon which we thought quite strange at first because it is not a common name but now he is just Devon Do whatever makes you happy hun - and we must arrange another meet up again soon

Tinker · 07/02/2007 23:05

Like it but depends where you live I think...

NadineBaggott · 07/02/2007 23:05

oi Tinker! have you moved yet?

Tinker · 07/02/2007 23:06

Yes! Who are you???

Bubbaloo · 07/02/2007 23:07

I had a cat called Devon...honest.

Wozaname - Sadly yes. Unless you have a welsh name you are probably in for a hard time at comp.
