How long did your morning sickness last for?

NC but long time lurker and occasional poster.

I've been awake for an hour feeling sick. I'll be 8 weeks on Monday and have had sickness all day every day for five days. No actual vomiting luckily.

I'm aware I might be in for weeks and weeks of this so really this is just a moan and perhaps optimistically am hoping for some stories where sickness only lasted a couple of weeks! Thanks all.

You are right charlybs I actually feel better after raising this on here as I realise now it could be a lot worse and I should be grateful I am not actually vomiting. I want to be happy and positive as you say.

It doesn't mean feeling sick doesn't suck (it does!) but hopefully you can find nice things to distract yourself Smile

I'm now 20 weeks, my sickness finished at around 14 weeks then has come back in the last week or so and happens any time of the day. I have also started getting heartburn which makes the sickness worse and find that I can't let myself go hungry.

ladypenelope I hope I give you hope - like you I had constant nausea (haven't vomited once) but the nausea only lasted 3 weeks! I had it weeks 8-10. I did cry during the 3rd week as it's hard feeling sick all the time and couldn't bare the thought of it lasting 6 weeks or more, but really, atleast I didn't have to carry a sick bag everywhere or make a run for the toilets in work!

Crackers, ginger biscuits, babybel, grapes, clementines and ice cold water were my best friends! I would have multiple bottles of water in the fridge (and plenty of ice cubes in the freezer) ready so that I had a constant supply of cold water. I did beat myself up a but for not eating enough healthy foods and big meals but really, you just need energy and to be as comfortable as possible during this stage so eat whatever helps you.

Good luck and hope it goes away soon. I'm 28 weeks now and although I do remember how bad I felt during those 3 weeks, the memory really is fading! Smile

32 weeks and been sick almost every day since week 6. I reckon I've had 10 or 12 days off!

In both pregnancies I felt better from week 14.

I had it about 14 weeks first pregnancy , I had the hyperemesis version and lost a stone. Utter misery and 6 weeks off work.

It's a sign of a strong pregnancy! Good hormones keeping it going. I have tremendous sympathy with anyone with nausea since then.

Second pregnancy I got some Ondansetron melt (great drug!) and I was so much better, able to keep working.

I was sick the whole 7 and 8 months of pregnancy with my lot
I never did find anything to take it away or even make it better
Hope it goes away soon

Try stuff with ginger and fizzy water. Keep trying to find stuff you can keep down. And try to rest and sleep as much as you can.

It's by far the most difficult part of pregnancy for me and I absolutely hate it. It seems to go on forever. Mine lasted 20 weeks each time.

hello everyone! I'm only at 5 weeks which is barely even pregnant, but boy am I feeling it. Last week I had spells of nausea and cravings, but this week I am off everything and so sad. As of today I am vomiting too. I wanted to keep it a secret for much longer, but I've had to tell my mil as we live with her and it was very obvious, and also I want to tell my mother as she did mention she had a tough time with me! I know it sounds crazy but I never realised how bad it really is. Huge respect to those of you who have been through it, especially the ones who had it past the first trimester - I reckon that will be me too ;-;

18 weeks with DS & Im now 8 weeks with DC2 & it began at 6+4.
Hasn't been as bad(yet!!) as I haven't actually vomited.
With DS I threw up morning noon & night.

Like AP I come round a bit in the afternoon, it's the mornings& evening I find worse.

I nibble oatcakes&rich tea fingers. The hormonal headaches are horrendous on top of the nausea.

Will get some mint boiled sweets to try tomorrow.

16 weeks with DS and about 12 with DD. I found it v hard and it wasn't nearly as hard as some of you have had. Combined with the exhaustion it's a really awful experience. If it does get bad OP do go to the GP as there are medication they can try if you're willing. Flowers

Oh yes, nothing much helped the first time. I survived mostly on salted chipsticks, which I couldn't find at all this time round. This time it's been eating constantly to stave off hunger: salty snacks and apples. Certain things made it worse too, eggs, coffee/tea and meat.

I felt queasy for most of the pregnancy and particularly yuck up until about 20 odd weeks. Was rarely sick but felt like I could be any time and had the most awful taste at the back of my throat the whole time.

I always wanted to throttle the people who would tell me it would go afte 12 weeks.

I found stodge helped - I ate a lot of toast and was quite fat by the time I gave birth!

Pregnancy number 1, sick from pre pregnancy test until 6months. Gained no weight, ie lost 2 stone.

Pregnancy 2, sick before pregnancy test, then for the entire 9months. Gained no weight ie lost 2 stone. Would go 2-3 days with just water and half a tomato.

Had HG without the vom, should have asked for help, properly ill. But because no vom wasnt treated.
