hip pain when trying to sleep 32+3

Hi there, has anyone found any relief from hip pain when trying to sleep, i have a V pillow but this doesnt do anything, i cant afford a mattress topper as we have quite a hard matress but im tossing and turning all night

It's a bugger isn't it. I get DH to massage my lower back/back of pelvis before I settle. A pillow between the knees and another between the feet sometimes helps (much better than just supporting between the knees), but I also toss and turn a lot in pain, and find flat on my back a bit better (and then feel guilty).

Ultimately it's PGP and for me the best way to make the nights better is not to aggravate it in the day - minimal walking, no lifting, no crossed legs/standing on one leg eg to get dressed/shoes on. Sitting with cushions under my bum so my hips are higher than my knees, or sitting on a gym ball all help a bit.

At least you are nearer the end than me! 24 weeks here... sob.

Going to try some stretches before bed and more pillows tonigbt and see if that helps

I'm 36+5 and having same issue, yet to be solved

Biggest problem is, if I sleep without pillow I wake every 2 hours needing to wee or changing sides and feeling discomfort in my crotch lol

However, if I use m pregnancy pillow, weirdly I sleep better with it - get 4/5 hours and literally don't move, but then get more hip pain as I've clearly stayed on one side too long!

Stuck between a rock and a hard place . . Wake up 6 times slightly more comfortable of wake up 2-3 with more discomfort!

38 weeks pregnant here, found my remedy:
to keep my lower leg not bent but stretched out straight, then put a huge pile of pillows not between my knees but on the bed directly in front of that leg to rest the top leg, which is bent, on it. If that makes sense. Difficult to keep everything in place all night and changing sides a major project, but it really works for me. My hip pain always concerned the lower leg though.

If you have a spare duvet put that under tgd sheet your side of the bedbed. I have aa 13 tog duvet under my side and its much softer. If you don't gave one you should be able to pick one up for a tenner.

I had this terribly and found that a warm bath before bed would help a lot. And a pillow between the legs. If you want to turn from one side to the other then try to do it in stages and slowly - so into your back, rest, then on to the other side

Also I found it a lot easier to sleep when my husband was away and I had the bed to myself!
