Mucus plug help

Hi

I am 34+6 and whilst at the toilet I noticed a small amount of green, snot like discharge which I assume is my mucus plug starting to come away?

This is my first pregnancy and I am going for a growth scan on Thursday as I am measuring a few weeks behind.

Is this the type of thing I should phone maternity assessment for or should I just wait and see what happens?

Thank you!

No just wait, it's normal! With my first I lost my whole plug during labour (grim) but with my second it gradually came out bit by bit over a few weeks. I barely even noticed it!

It shouldn't be green. I would call up for some advice

They mentioned this at NCT whilst I can't remember exactly what it was it was definitely baby poop and they said to get seen asap x

I wound call as you're 34 weeks just for reassurance.

Hi everyone

Quick update. I phoned maternity assessment. They weren't too worried as I didn't have any other symptoms. What I've noticed over the last couple of days though is that I'm passing a small amount of similar green coloured snot consistency discharge after exercise. I'm not passing it at any other time.

Is this small bits of mucus plug? Is this normal at 35 weeks pregnant?

I'm still doing around 8 classes per week at the gym. Obviously if this is anything to be concerned about I would stop immediately. But I'm a first time mum and don't have a clue what's normal or not in pregnancy!

Some women lose their plug all in one go right before birth but some women lose it over a longer period of time. Some, so much so that it's barely noticeable as it blends in with "normal pregnancy discharge".

I'm a FTM and I fit into the latter category! I only realised because of sometimes there's slight blobs and it's differently coloured like yours. It can regrow (yuck!) so I wouldn't worry too much at all, it sounds normal! I started losing mine at 30 and still losing it very very slowly!

I've been finding the same op after a very straining bowel movement. So constipated! Angry

I mentioned it to the doctor but she just asked if it smelt, which it didn't and she wasn't concerned. It's an odd yellowy green just like snot.

At about 33 weeks I noticed quite a bit of yellow snot type of mucus (tmi sorry), I was petrified of going into labour early but nothing happened and the midwife didn't seem bothered. I went up to my elective C-section date a week after my due date lol.
