Food smells and m/s!! how to hide nausea when hiding pregnancy

Basically food smells about this time at work making me feel sick .

No one at work knows I am pregnant. Can't get away from the smells of hot soup etc. Have opened the window but everyone complains it is too cold and just looks at me like I have lost the plot.

How do I improve situation. Still hide I am pregnant while going green with nausea and trying to hide vomiting (so far managed by running water or flushing toilet in time).

Advise please

Oh sympathies cupcakes!! Can you suck mints at all, would that help? I found it great during my first pregnancy (though the smell of mints made me throw up during my third ).

Try not to let your stomach get empty either - nibble biscuits surreptitiously if you can. Often you will feel sicker if you are hungry/your blood sugar levels drop.

Mints don't help with the smells.

Have eaten but really not hungry and finding it very difficult to even want food today (yesterday I was worried because I wasn't sick, that will teach me).

Mints do help a bit with smells - or (if you can bear them) throast sweets like Halls or Lockets create a pleasing miasma of menthol that stops most things penetrating your nose.

Or keep a lemon on your desk and stick your thumbnail into the skin occasionally to get a good lemon smell.

Really, keeping your blood sugar up does help - anything you even slightly fancy eating, go out and get it immediately. I found constant biscuit-nibbling helped a lot - rich tea fingers especially.

Constant nibbling of food helped me -dried apricots, breadsticks etc.

Also a few drops of grapefruit essential oil on a tissue in your pocket so you can whip it out for a quick sniff!

I used to have a real problem with the smell of freshly brewed coffee and peoples perfumes when I was pregnant and had m/s. I was convinced that I looked permanently green but no one had noticed!

I am going to try all of the above today.

The menthol sounds like a great idea as dones the essential oil ( love lemons, limes and grapefruit at the moment as well so good idea).

Lets hope it makes it all abit more comfortable.

Thanks ladies
