PCOS & ttc2

Hi all, I am here for a bit of advice and wondered if any of you
Lovely ladies can help. I am ttc number 2, I have a lovely 18 month old boy and when I was ttc him I was diagnosed with PCOS only small cysts, anyway I managed to conceive naturally with the help of Agnus castus the first time round. I wrote down my cycle lengths when trying to conceive the first time round and they ranged from 34-36 days and then had one LONG cycle of 90 days! Anyway to cut a long story short before you all get mega bored, I have been off birth control pill from 1st July, had one bleed and have had nothing since . I have done numerous pregnancy tests and all negative, and doing Ovulation tests and haven't had a positive yet. It's really getting me down, I'm just looking for a bit of reassurance really and any tips to get AF to arrive so I can start a fresh cycle. I have tried soy isoavones and this hasn't worked... Help fellow PCOS sufferers please xx

Hi I have PCOS and currently pregnant with number 2. It took me 18 months to get pregnant with my first so this time round I wanted to try and get my periods settled to help things along. So I started exercising more (bought an exercise bike) and cut out sugar and bread. As certain foods really do not help PCOS symptoms. I also used a period tracker to try and track changes in my body so that I could roughly work out when I was ovulating if I was at all. It all worked as I had three periods in a row 35 days apart which is really unusual for me and conceived after the 3rd period. Also we dtd every other day if we could as apparently this is the best way to ensure sperm are there before after and during ovulation. Good luck. A few small changes really helped me so it's worth trying. I had no period for 18 months after I had my first as I was breastfeeding so was really surprised it happened so quickly.

My sister has PCOS and her specialist said that most people with PCOS conceive faster if they're slightly underweight, and follow a diet similar to the diet of a diabetic. I would also go back on the Agnus Castus if that helped the first time around!

Definitely go back on the Agnus castus. I took it for PMT after having DC 1&2 with clomid (pcos) and found myself with a surprise third baby. Also my friend unfortunately suffered a MC and fell again without even having a period in between thanks to Agnus castus.

Hi thanks for all your comments. I'm back on the Agnus Castus and have been for a few weeks now but not done anything as of yet. Do any of you have any tips to start AF? I'm feeling so down about it, it took 7 months to conceive Henry but some months a 34 day cycle and had a huge 90 day cycle which I'm nearly at again :/ xx

In the same boat as you millykb PCOS suffer here took 4yrs to conceive with no1, he's 13m now & periods have been regular ever since I've had him & now my last period was 15th aug - 21aug and nothing since.... Done a pregnancy test yesterday & it was negative really down about that as I really thought maybe, although I was in 2 minds before I did the test as I felt its a little early for us and wanted no1 to be atleast 2 before I fell pregnant again. But then again my DH was saying its best to start trying now as could take long again. What is Angus Cactus? Never heard of it

Agnus castus

32 weeks with no.2 - took 2 years ttc no.1 and just 3 months this time. I went almost straight onto agnus castus this time and that seems to have been the success factor for both pregnancies. Assume you're doing all the usual op - exercise, diet etc?

My BMI is healthy, and I'm the right weight so not dieting but know cutting sugar out may help. Also exercise I work a lot so never have the time really and when I was TTC1 it only took 7 months and I didn't exercise then and was bigger than I am now. It's so hard work isn't it girls? Agnus castus is a herb that is supposed to regulate your cycles, I took it when ttc Henry and I caught pregnant taking it so know it must work. I'm currently on it again just desperate for My period so
I can start a new cycle! Xx

Hi Milky, am pg with #2 currently and have pcos. I find cutting out sugar completely works. I have no will power so have to do it for charity fundraising to ensure I stick to it. Also biggest thing for me both times in regulating period was reflexology. Before that I could go months with no period. Also get gp to run tests to see if ovulating. If not they can prescribe to help this. Good luck.

Also just remembered (!) Have heard that the normal ovulation test thingys don't always work for pcos due to the hormones. I bought a basal thermometer from amazon and used that to track ovulation.
