Pregnant with a toddler

Anyone else? 21 wks , ds is almost 14 months, walking a lot, on the go 324/7 and grumpy because of a molar. I am beyond knackered.

How on earth will I manage?

33 weeks pregnant and dd is just shy of 2.5. I'm so knackered already and the baby isn't even here yet! My saving grace is that dd now goes to nursery 3 afternoons a week.

Yes it wasn't easy! I was so tired, falling asleep sitting up and my toddler wanting to play... Use your toddlers nap times to take a nap yourself, also go to bed super early. I used to go the same time as my toddler did which was 8 pm every night! Sleep as much as you can!

Hmmm yeah it's not easy. Bit shit in fact but you will get through it! Here's two games to play with your 14 month old when you're too knackered to move:

1. give her a full box of tissues and tell her to have fun pulling them out. Yes it makes a mess but you can lie down for a bit.

2. play doctors. You are always the patient and have to lie down while she works out what is wrong with you. You have a lot of symptoms.

3. bath time fun time. Put shed loads of toys in the bathroom. Have lovely long bath while she plays.

I've got to sons 4 and a half and 2nd is 20 months, I'm 23 weeks pregnant. Finding it hard. It's not so much my oldest but my youngest. He just doesn't listen. 🙈 xx

Yep 30 weeks here and DD just turned 2. Get yourself a comfy chair and surround with toys and books etc and just supervise from a distance as much as possible, or do reading / singing activities that aren't as physical.

Yep! Struggling through the exhaustion and nausea of the first trimester at the moment. Feeling guilty that DS is watching too much TV, we're not getting and about and his diet is terrible because cooking makes me feel so sick.

I cannot imagine going through the newborn phase this time round - maternity leave isn't going to be the box-set fest it was last time round!

Apparently, so I've been told, a newborn and toddler is easier than pregnancy and toddler. Ds doesn't watch telly. At all. And we don't seem to be at a stage of supervising from a distance, he's so so busy, literally doesn't stop. You can tell hesoff colour at the moment because he voluntarily laid down for a few seconds.

Bubbins I feel for you. I do feel better now, the first trimester was awful. Bit in that time he's learnt to walk and is not content with sitting. Yawn.

I still remember how awful it was - dd1 was exactly 2 when ds was born, then dd1 was 3y10m and ds 22 months when dd2 was born.

I can't exactly tell you how I did it - lots and lots of time outside in waterproofs (all winter babies), play dough and crayons, cbeebies and my master stroke - the Finding Game! "Go and find mummy 3 red things! 4 things that are in the garden! 2 flowers!" (while sat on a bench in the garden with smallest wrapped up warm).

As I said I'm not sure exactly how I did it but now they are 16, 14 and 12 and really nice, talkative, happy teenagers. Its hard, but it does pass eventually!

nottalotta if it is any consolation I think DS was similarly off and into everything when he first learned to walk. Nothing else compared to the novelty value of being able to toddle about. He's chilled out a bit now the novelty has worn off!

Erm I think I regretfully disagree about the pregnancy being harder than the newborn baby with a toddler, but maybe that's just me. DD never used to watch tv either. Hahaha oh how times have changed. Being pregnant with a toddler is hard though!

Today I am 40+12. DS will be 3 in 3 weeks and stopped napping almost the moment I fell pregnant

I am a broken woman. But I am assured that having a newborn and a toddler is much, much easier - physically at least. Different challenges sure. But easier in many ways.

19+5 weeks pregnant and ds is 17 mths, he is on the go constantly and I work so can't nap when he does, I only work term time and found it much easier over the holidays when I could.

DD2 is 14 months, I'm 28 weeks pregnant and work full time, tires doesn't even come close! I've just put the little one to bed, supervising the eldest doing homework now and then when she goes to bed I've two loads of washing to sort, packed lunches to make and then some work to do. I just want to go to bed 😢😢😢

DD is 20 months and I'm 20 weeks gone! I love nap times haha!! I must admit I do feel bad letting my DD watch TV but sometimes it needs to be done lol!! I have taken to taking her out most days so she can run around and I can sit and watch and rest! The other day I did fall asleep without meaning to and woke up to a little girl poking her fingers in my ears and shouting mummy!! Its hard work but so worth it! 😊

I am 25 weeks with an 18month old who has been poorly for 12 days with whooping cough. He has me up at all hours and I have other children too so walking to school and back, some days 3 school runs as my little boy is in nursery and only doing half days. Also to top it off we are in the middle of moving house haha!!! But hey what doesn't kill you makes you stronger x

I'm 9 weeks with an 8 year old, 3 year old and 21 month old. Feeling beyond rough. No tips, you'll just get through it but it feels never ending at the time.

And to add, 10000000% easier when baby arrives than when pregnant! Every time!!

Working makes this a lot easier for me! When at home DH is there too.
