Winter nursing tops?

Hello.

Can anyone recommend where sells nursing tops that aren't too expensive? Ideally I'd like some that are more suitable for winter (so long sleeves etc) as baby is due late November, but there's not much on the Mothercare website (mainly seems to be nursing PJs and summer tops). If all else fails I'll just have to get a couple of summer ones and wear a cardigan with them I guess.

Yep I found cardigan was definitely the way forwards - got some good ones from Primark. Layering will be good for those post labour sweats Wink

You don't need nursing tops. Just wear a vest top under your normal clothes. Push top one up, roll vest top down, all sorted!

I got the best top ever online from a company called Boob. I think it's a Swedish company. I got a gorgeous cosy bf hoodie in turquoise. Not cheap but v warm, very discreet and not at all mumsy.

Yeah I did wear quite a lot of cardigans when nursing DD1. I just wondered if anyone knew anywhere that sold nursing jumpers, but everywhere only seems to sell summer-orientated stuff which is odd.

I will look 'Boob' up thank you.

I found this jumper on the Mothercare website but it's £73!

On eBay and Amazon there are nursing hoodies for about £20-25 will find out the make,,I bookmarked the other day.

I tend to use a nursing vest under a long sleeve top so lift up long top and unclipped nursing vest, keeps tummy covered.

Type boob.design instead!! Came on to suggest boob. The hoodies are quite thin btw but generally all their stuff is amazing.

I love Seraphine but it's not cheap. My fave discovery last pregnancy was the BrestVest. Similar to what PP have said about a normal vest but way easier (I found it impossible to find a normal vest that was easy enough to pull down to nurse that didn't look all lumpy under a top). The BrestVest finishes under your boobs so wear a nursing bra, BrestVest and then normal top.

There's a group on Facebook called Can I Breastfeed In It? UK that has lots of links to specific nursing clothes and high street stuff that is suitable for feeding and tried and tested by group members.

Just wish I had the budget to buy more, missing my dresses.

I had to order my work uniform from funmum.com they do lots of really good nursing tops! The ones I have for work aren't made to be formal but they're nice and stretchy, long sleeved and warm!

Primark spaghetti strap vests worked for me. I wore them under jumpers, wrap dresses, and other tops.

Waterfall cardigans would be my go-to. Can usually get nice grey wool/cashmere ones in TK Maxx for about £30. They have longer 'tail' bits than regular cardigans so can cover more up.

I found H&M nursing tops great. They have a cross over v neck with lift able false layer inside it. Not sure if they have long sleeve yet, but I've had a few of the short sleeve ones, they come on double pack for £19.99 but often sell out quickly. Jojo MAMAN Bebe also have some great ones but more pricey. Again an extra layer, scoop neck. (eBay is great for nursing tops if you have time to browse each week and wait for some to come on.)

Double layer with a vest also works well as pp says, but I prefer the nursing tops personally.

Jojo are hateful. Awful clinging fabric in bizarre sizing and after a few washes they are all to short.

Don't do it.

Purpless are good for Jersey basics. Lots of different colours available. They can smell a bit funny when they arrive but are fine after a wash.

villainousbroodmare and SwallowsInSpring - what is the sizing like at Boob? I've got 5/6 dresses in my basket but not sure about sizes. I'm a solid 12, so would medium be best?

I'm really liking the range on the Boob website. A lot less 'mumsy' than a lot of the tops I've seen for sale.

Most of the 'breastfeeding' tops actually left me feeling more exposed imo they sremedies really fiddly. Winter was easy vest top and then jumper on top pull jumper up and vest top down couldn't see anything. I did have a few 'nursing vests' which were brilliant, had little clips on so the vest moved down a lot easier than a normal vest.
