Can you feel your cervix dilate/soften?

I'm 35+2 & have experienced what seems to be commonly referred to as "fanny daggers" (very technical) for a while but more so recently.

However, sat at work 15 minutes ago I felt a ransom sensation as baby was moving a little that I can only describe as feeling like my cervix was opening(?) it wasn't painful at all I just felt something happen and quite honestly panicked because it felt like something was going to fall out of there!!

Since it happened, my cervix feels different, sort of like I've inserted a tampon in a slightly wrong position and can feel it. Again not painful but I'm very aware of my cervix when sitting, standing, walking etc.

Is it even possible that I felt my cervix dilate/soften or could it just be baby engaging maybe? Smile
