has anyone felt their baby turn at around 36 weeks?

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience as me. Im 36 weeks on Saturday and been told that baby is breech, when i next go to midwife on Tuesday if he hasn't turned she will send me for another scan and see about getting him turned etc (don't like the sound of that but if needs must!). However, last night i felt awful. Had lots of twinges and baby was moving lots. His head has been by my ribs and extreamly uncomfortable. I had really really bad heartburn and could have cried. I just couldnt get comfortable at all. I couldn't seem to feel his head by my ribs anymore but this morning think maybe i can? I know i'm rambling on but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Yes. My baby turned from head down and engaged to transverse at 38 weeks. I felt very different it was painful in the night and so uncomfortable for the few days after until the midwife realised!

I felt my baby turn at about 26 weeks (so earlier) it was very uncomfy and my bump sort of deflated afterwards! It's grown again since (obviously!)

It's hard to tell the difference between a head and a bum. I think it's easier for the Mam to tell the difference as I knew which way my daughter was and two Midwifes got it wrong and I told them they were wrong and they done a scan and were shocked lol. She turned at 36 weeks after a 5 hour walking session !! My little boy turned at 37 weeks while I was in bed, felt his head push down the side of my tummy it was very uncomfortable. Th next morning I thought it was a dream lol then he got hiccups and it felt like they were very low down!! But he had turned

Ds was breech the whole way through. I knew it was his head in my ribs. He tried to turn quite late on. I was latching propped up in bed and my bump did a big lurch, went all wonky. I ended up moving and it went back, I think that was his last effort.

I didn't have him turned, having read a couple of very sad and traumatic accounts on here. Elcs, was fine.

I was breech at 36 weeks (confirmed by scan). Sent for ECV (turning) at 37 but scan before manoeuvre showed baby had turned all by itself. I feel lots of intense movement all the time so can't distinguish rummaging around from turning but it happens a lot. Good luck!

My second turned four times over the space of 24 hours when I was overdue and waiting for a c-section.

Yep ds turned himself about 34/5 weeks - I had similar symptons to you. Best of luck with delivery x

Yes, my dd turned at between 36 and 37 weeks. I was just walking along the street and felt a massive lurch in my abdomen then really, really needed a wee.

I did have my dd2 turned back to head down by ecv at 38 weeks and then induced.

Yes at 34 weeks whilst I was out on a walk. I nearly doubled over because I felt so weird, then had to run/waddle home as quick as I could because her movements caused a rather unpleasant knock on effect and I needed to get to a toilet.

I didn't feel it, but somewhere between 36 and 39 weeks DD did turn.

Equally, I didn't feel DS turn breech either.

Must have had stomach muscles of steel. Note the past tense!

I've spent the day at home on the sofa in my pj's feeling more than crap (the warm weather melting me hasn't helped) not sure if he has turned or not but it does feel different i hope i'm not kidding myself. Thank you for the kind wishes. 😙 best of luck to you all aswell xx

Yes, my dd was transverse for ages then breech. At 36 weeks she turned head down; it took hours and was quite uncomfortable for me. She was back to back in the end though. However, good news if baby has turned!

Yes my first was breech at 36 weeks and turned while I was sleeping. I woke up feeling like I'd been used as a punch bag. He was quiet for the rest of the day.
The next day I went in to hospital to have him turned (I was unaware that he'd turned). They gave me the drugs to relax my muscles then checked his position with the ultrasound. Surprise!

Oh yes. DD was unstable, typically transverse. Here that meant being admitted at 37 weeks in case I went into labour. Once in hospital, her position was monitored every day, and she managed every possible permutation. I could usually tell when she was changing position.

Pretty sure my baby is still turning at 35+3, so not far behind you. He seems to alternate between a weird traverse and head down. Sitting on my birthing ball and leaning forwards really seems to get him to shift forwards with his back to my tummy, as soon as I slob for too long I can feel him shifting back to a weird position. It's so true that how you sit and what you do can affect them. I recommend the whole bouncing on a birthing ball and sitting leaning forwards as much as possible.

My middle one turned at 38 weeks. Get in your hands and knees with your arse in the air lots. My midwife suggested a complimentary therapy called moxibustion too, where they burn a smelly cigarette shaped thing between your toes (sounds mad! But apparently has a good success rate of turning babies). Swimming can help too I hope the baby has turned for you!
