Craving smells!

Hi, just to get anyone's experience about smell cravings.
I'm 32 weeks with second baby and I remember getting exactly the same thing at this stage with DD1.
Craving smells of: Petrol.
Bleach.
Wet hot bathroom sponges (for body or face not for cleaning).
And this time around only: Wet clean laundry.

When I say it's a craving I actually need to sniff deeply into the item (although I try not to do that too much with bleach and petrol!!).
I feel like a freak.
I have never craved food with either pregnancies but felt really sick with certain smells for the first 3 months.
Anyone else has experienced this?

Yes. I used to love the smell of toilet cleaner. It was bizarre.

Hey, hallaluyah!! I am not alone. My dh thinks i am totally wierd. With all 5 of my pregnancies, (this being 5th) i've had no less than 5 different soaps in the bathroom at any time, must be certain smells though, pears, baby soap, wrights coal tar soap?? palmolive. Tends to be old fashioned ones, vosene shampoo, blue flash floor cleaner, although they've changed the fragrance of thet slightly, not happy bout that. Cif cleaner, I could go on..In labour with 3rd, i actually had a shower gel on a warm flannel that i sniffed at intervals. Lol

Yes vicks vaporub, due to the fact have had a permanent cold for the past 3 months, it did nothing for my cold but I absolutely love it, and the vicks inhaler is a close second - pharmacist said it was ok to use in pregnancy! Also the smell of rubber and Dettol-don't think Dettol is a solvent so don't think there's any danger but I don't overdo it with that anyway!
