Suddenly soft bump

Hi,
I was due two days ago. I have just been in the bath and have realised that my bump is suddenly soft.
I can grab skin that was too taught to pull away up until yesterday.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried or is it normal?
Thanks

If you are worried call the antenatal or labour wards.
Could your baby have engaged more? Or turned over?

Not that I know but maybe your baby has shifted and on the way down ring your midwife to check it out

Quite likely baby has engaged in the pelvis and "dropped" meaning there is more space at the top of your bump.

During the last couple of weeks, my bump was softer at the top, but he was constantly moving (earned the nickname of fidget before 20 weeks), so I didn't worry. If you are truly worried though, call your midwife. They're always happy to help :)

Probably just shifted a bit, but if you need to, don't hesitate to contact the triage unit/midwife.

Could you be leaking waters and not realising? A friend had this and her bump went very soft she didn't look pregnant. I'd go and get checked out.

Wierdly, as soon as I'd finished writing the post, bump went back to normal. Can only assume that it was due to baby moving into a different position.

This baby needs to hurry up and be born now. My nerves won't take much more.
Would feel a bit silly calling mw now.

I'm 40+3 and my bump has been soft at the top for a couple of weeks now because she's dropped and the head is really low. Was odd as I've carried her really high the entire pregnancy and now its pretty squishy there.

Moonrocks6 · 14/09/2016 21:08

It's definitely a bit softer at the top than the bottom now. I think that baby must have dropped further into place. Would love this to move along now.

I can feel how crepey the skin is going to be afterSad

Yeah I'm trying not to think about that bit! Hopefully it will all ping back into shape Grin
