I have my first appointment in 2 weeks, but I'm confused as to where it is. The receptionist at the doctor asked me which hospital I want as I'm close to 2, and the booked me in. Will the appointment be at the doctors or at the hospital? And what normally happens?

Thanks :)

It's usually at your gp surgery you'll have to ring and ask.

Long, mega boring form filling.

It sounds like your booking in appt at the doctors surgery.

The receptionist asked what hospital so they knew which midwives to make the appt with.

But if you're unsure probably best you ring the surgery to confirm.

If it is booking in appointment then mine was at the local day hospital.

Best ring it is very different depending on where you live.

Ring the GP surgery and ask them to confirm.

My booking in appointment was at my GP surgery, but the way it all works seems to vary from area to area.

And yes. Lots of form filing in on your handheld maternity notes, plus a few physical bits (height, weight, blood pressure, urine measured / tested, blood samples taken).
