Implant

Hi all, sorry wasn't sure where to post this. I'm six months pp and want to get the implant. Probably a really silly thing to ask, but my gut instinct is to wait for my period to come back first and then have it, to sort of 'clear it out' naturally for one cycle.
Please tell me this is a stupid idea!! Or is that what you're meant to do? Had a look online but couldn't find info, and I forgot to ask my GP.

I had mine put in at about six week post-partum, my practice were very keen to make sure contraception was in place. My periods didn't come back until nearly a year as I was BF.
