Baby Movements

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and haven't felt the baby move for about 6 hours now. How long do I leave it before phoning EPU? Don't want to overreact and phone every time baby is quiet...

Realistically how long would you leave it before phoning?

I'd phone now and ask them. No harm in a phone call. Try a cold drink to see if it gets baby moving too. But ring now anyway to speak to a professional. Hopefully baby is just being quiet x

Phone maternity assessment/triage now please, it's not worth taking the risk. Also, better to go in now and hopefully get home at a reasonable hour of the day/evening. Good luck, I hope everything is ok.

WellErrr · 10/09/2016 15:42

They won't mind seeing you anytime. Ring now :)

Laineymc7 · 10/09/2016 15:50

Call them or go into triage. Also try drinking the cold water. Go to a quiet room lay on your back, lift and wiggle you bum so your stomach moves a little then turn onto your side to see if you can feel anything. Hope all is ok. X

PeppaAteMySoul · 10/09/2016 15:53

Mine always seems to move more after eating /drinking something full of sugar and then lying on my side. Might be worth trying that or similar and then calling?
I had a similar panic a few weeks ago. All was fine but I have an anterior placenta so still sometimes feel less movement than I should. The staff are lovely and happy to reassure you so don't worry about calling them if you need to.

LadyMumble · 10/09/2016 15:53

Any movement since you posted OP? I had this worry last weekend, my Mum told me to soak a flannel in cold water and drape it over my bump where I thought baby was, sure enough baby gave me a nudge straight away. Other tried and tested methods for me include chocolate or other sweet stuff and ice cold drinks. Hope you feel fidgets soon.

MrsSecker · 10/09/2016 15:56

Thanks everyone, I'm sat drinking ice cold water. DH thinks I'm overreacting and baby will just be asleep (for 6 hours?) going to give it another 10 mins of drinking and laying on my back/side and if nothing I'll call EPU. X

They would rather see you ten times and nothing be wrong than not see you and miss a problem. Trust your instincts.

MrsSecker · 10/09/2016 16:23

I'm off to get checked. Thanks for all your messages

I'm so glad to hear you are both healthy and well. Parenting is such a worry from the moment your pregnant!
