I am six weeks pregnant with my second baby. i am slightly worried cos I don't feel any different at all. Didn't really have any symtoms when pregnant with daughter but clothes started to feel tight straight away. Anybody else feel no different until bump appeared?

I had symptoms of pregnancy with first two pregancies which ended in miscarriage. When I got pregnant with my DS1 I was paranoid because I had no symptoms but everything was fine. No symptoms with next 2 and now pregant again and feel absolutely nothing! Not worried though as I now know this is perfectly normal.

Hi lovelylou. I'm also six weeks with no symptoms. I was really worried earlier this week, but my mum said that she didn't have any with either me or my brother, so it's probably OK. It does feel silly to wish for morning sickness, but I do think it would make me feel better (or at least more pregnant!).

lovelylou · 02/02/2007 10:53

Yeah have to admit my mum said the same to me. when are you due atlantis? My due date is sep 28.

I didn't think I had any symptoms apart from a missed period so I didn't test til I was nearly 8 weeks (had had many disappointments before). In hindsight though breaking down into tears in front of my boss in the middle of the office was perhaps down to pregnancy hormones!

nh101 · 02/02/2007 17:24

I am also 6 weeks and no symptoms. The days are going so slowly! Talk about dragging by. I can't wait until my scan. It is reassuring to know there are others out there with no symptoms, although I am really thirsty (drinking six pints of water a day!) and feel really hormonal (losing my temper at the drop of a hat which is not like me at all - usually very placid!) and also got very spotty last week but that has cleared up now I am taking better care of my skin.

No sore boobs though, no sickness, no going to the loo loads, except obviously I am going quite a lot as I am drinking 6 pints of water (used to drink about 4 a day anyway).

what a relief to find other people experiencing the same... am on 2nd pregnancy and in first one had tender boobs and early sickness. Went to the doctor on Monday (at 6 and a half weeks) just to get on the system, and told him that I was feeling fine... he said there was plenty of time yet... and now, here I am at 7 weeks, and sickness and tiredness have suddenly hit. And, as you say, in a strange way it is a bit of a relief...!
Good luck everyone. Here's to scans, and September.

J20BABY · 04/02/2007 15:21

YEAY! GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WANTING TO START WITH MORNING SICKNESS, JUST SO I FEEL LIKE I AM ACTUALLY PG! I HAD IT BAD LAST TIME FROM ABOUT 5 WEEKS, AND ALTHOUGH I'M FEELING SICK, NOT ACTUALLY BEING IT YET. THE THINGS THAT PUT OUR MINDS AT REST :O

J20BABY · 04/02/2007 15:37

p.s sorry, just been informed that caps make me shout didn't realise-new to this chatting lark

fruitful · 04/02/2007 15:40

I had no symptoms till 7 weeks, when I wondered why I'd been wishing for symptoms. Next time I am determined to enjoy the lull before the storm!

cupcake78 · 05/02/2007 09:37

It is so nice to know that everyone worries the same as I do.

Third pregnancy 7 weeks I have had all symptoms but sickness has not been as bad as in previous pregnancies when it was truly terrible. I have been waiting for it to "really start" as I put it for the last three weeks and still waiting . Even though I am being sick most mornings and feeling sick at any time of the day and night I am still paranoid. When I am sick I am worried that it all going to be as bad as it was last time. Will I ever be happy?

Yesterday I wasn't sick at all, boobs stopped hurting etc so today I am paranoid that everything is ok. I am sure it is, I think I have just gone abit mad. Cryed at DH last night because I missed him, then told him he was smothering me .

I have lost the plot!!

Hello again, lovelylou. I think I'm due on about 25th September but haven't had a dating scan and my periods weren't very regular, so I'm not absolutely sure. Started to feel queasy over the weekend. In fact, I felt that I had a mild hangover: tired, hungry but with no appetite, queasy, thirsty. (Does seem unfair to have hangover symptoms without being able to have any booze!) All symptoms are quite mild, but it is starting to feel a bit more real. How about you?

cupcake78 · 05/02/2007 09:49

I am trying to get an early scan booked just to put my mind at rest that I am in fact pregnant and don't just have a persistent virus.

I kind of really hope that the sickness just stays as it is because i can cope with it at the moment "the virus that is" .

I have a friend who didn't find out she was pregnant till 17 weeks in because she has no symptoms and kept having slight periods .

This whole pregnancy thing is very weird

lovelylou · 05/02/2007 10:18

Hi again Atlanta. My boobs are a bit sore and I did cry the other day because my 21 month old daughter wouldn't give me a kiss. Other than that still nothing and I can't help but worry all the time. Husband says I am really wierd to be wishing for nausea and vomiting.

I have had a "hangover" feeling as well these last two days. I think it is cos I have been eating rubbish this weekend. During the week I am really good at work with lots of fruit and veg and no chocolate/crisps or anything rubbish. Then on Saturday night I had a takeaway pizza which tasted great but then I felt awful the next day. Last week was the same, I like to "treat" myself at the weekend but I don't think it is doing me any good. Maybe I am doing too much at the weekends too, so I am tired.

MrsFish · 05/02/2007 21:00

Hi there. I am approx six weeks pregnant too (due end of Sept). I didn't feel any symptoms with my first until my bump started showing at 5 months and I had dreadful heartburn. The symptoms I have this time are very mild nausea and extreme tiredness early afternoon, Oh and extremely sore boobs (could do without that) other than thatI don't feel at all pregnant.

Minxx · 06/02/2007 09:54

Hi all, I am about 7weeks and 2 days, but having my first scan tomorrow !! to find out the specific date, my date is about 23rd Sept. Not had any sickness but lots of tiredness. This is my third pregnancy, my youngest is nearly 13,couldnt remember what to expect, but nothing as yet ! Is this the lull before the storm?...

BabyRags · 06/02/2007 10:49

Hello
I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my first child and I'm an 'older' mum at 35 years old.

My doctor confirmed I was pregnant at 4 weeks but refuses to speak to me anymore, saying I should wait to hear from the hospital and that they will send me an appointment for 12 weeks into the pregnancy. The hospital refuses to see me before the appointment (I don't know when it is yet), so no one will talk about any questions I have or concerns.

Is this normal? Is this what you are all finding too?

Minxx · 06/02/2007 10:57

Babyrags,
I am an older Mum too, I'm 36 in a few months. As I am not sure how far I am, the doctor is sending me for a scan to get precise dates. If you want to have all the test done they have to be done at certain times, waiting for 12weeks could be too late. I would ask to see a doctor and raise your concerns. It worked for me and I am off for my first scan tomorrow.

BabyRags · 06/02/2007 11:13

Thanks Minxx

Unfortunately I've tried but the receptionist has refused to book me an appointment with the doctor saying that they have done their job in referring me to the hospital!

The hospital say it takes a few weeks to put my details in the system and there's nothing they can do until then. I'm trying to speak to nhsdirect but they say it all depends on the area as to what services I get.

Good luck for the scan though!

cupcake78 · 06/02/2007 11:25

Babyrags

This sounds terrible. They should be there for you. I know it is naughty but you could play the irrational pregnant woman or make an appointment with you doctor because of "another illness" ie possible urine ifection etc just so they agree to see you and once you are in be honest and tell them why you have done it.

If this persists I would be making a serious complaint to the practice manager including all the partners!! I think it is disgusting the way you are being treated.

This is not normal.

nh101 · 06/02/2007 15:56

Babyrags, I agree with Cupcake, the receptionist has no right to tell you you cannot see your GP. Get an appointment now. That is what you pay your taxes for.

PS I giggled at your post cos I was on the phone to my surgery yesterday trying to find out when I would be seen the MW and they were very dismissive! Basically they made me feel like I was wasting their time. Surely they realise that all pregnant women are anxious about their first appt/scan. Have they never had babies???

Minxx · 06/02/2007 16:02

When I first found out I was pregnant , I called into the doctors to let them know, I was told by the receptionist that I had to go back when I was 12 weeks or missed 2 periods. When I explained "I dont know how many weeks I am" she tutted and said everyone knows. I answered "Well I dont". I was very ill in december and didnt have a full period ( a days dribble) so I was unsure. With this she said well i cant book you in for a few weeks. As I had fears and concerns , I booked to see the doctor and didnt say a reason why. When I saw the doctor its when things started to roll for me. As I have my first scan tomorrow. I think you may have to tell a little white lie and get into see your GP, the receptionist does not need to know what you want the appointment for !!

nh101 · 06/02/2007 16:15

The receptionist has no right to know either! Little Hitlers. That is a terrible story Minxx
