Hey everyone i am 33 weeks pregnant and since 27 weeks baby has hiccups every day without fail. It happens between 4-6 times per day. Last night he woke me up with hiccups and again this morning. They don't last long though.. Approximately 5-7 minutes at least. I did google and tons of websites came up about after 32 weeks baby shouldn't hiccup every day well unfortunately that isn't the case for me as he hiccups for england lol do you think i need to be worried? He moves a lot and is very active but keep thinking whether he is distressed due to cord entanglement and / or compression :(

Mine still hiccups every day (now 37 weeks). I didn't know that was supposed to stop!

malin100 · 05/09/2016 12:52

And multiple times per day I should add

Mine hiccuped all the time during pregnancy. She's 3 and a half now and still does, every time she laughs 😀

KayTee87 · 05/09/2016 13:36

My 5 week old still hiccups all the time, apparently it's perfectly normal

29redshoes · 05/09/2016 13:43

Mine hiccuped loads in pregnancy, right up to 40 weeks. It's normal. Don't panic!

GashleyCrumbTiny · 05/09/2016 22:09

My 36 week bump is hiccupping pretty much every day. Never occurred to me that wasn't okay! All my scans and checks etc have been normal.

Thank you ladies so so much for putting my mind at ease. He has only hiccuped about two times today so that has made me feel a bit less anxious. I am such an anxious person

confused my son did too and hiccups when he laughs, and he's 15 next week Smile

AmberNectarine · 05/09/2016 22:27

My eldest did this constantly. Now 6 and never hiccups!

dungandbother · 05/09/2016 22:32

DD was a hiccupper in womb. Endlessly. Frigging annoying.

She's 9 now. Doesn't hiccup too much now, but she never burped. She never did as a baby and still doesn't. Literally, ever. She's cows milk intolerant!

DS Had hiccups maybe twice in womb. But he now burps endlessly. Loudly. Deliberately. Grrrrrr and he hiccups ALL THE TIME.

dungandbother · 05/09/2016 22:33

PS DD makes up for the lack of burping with loud vibrating farts poor lamb Grin

Uiscebeatha85 · 05/09/2016 22:42

My 5 week old does all the time and she hiccuped the whole way through pregnancy!

malin100 · 05/09/2016 22:53

Oh dung, maybe my baby is taking after me then as I'm a non-burper too Grin

Dixiechick17 · 06/09/2016 07:47

I also had a bump that had hiccups all the time, she's now 15 months and still gets hiccups when she guzzles her drink too fast :)

crayfish · 06/09/2016 12:25

I don't want to worry you but a relative of mine is a neonatal Dr and told me (when my DS was hiccuping madly for the lat ten weeks of my pregnancy) that sometimes excessive hiccups can be indicative of a problem with the baby. I'm not sure what, but it might be worth mentioning to the midwife.

FWIW though my hiccupping baby is now 13 months and perfect!

raviolidreaming · 07/09/2016 08:10

What does it feel like when they hiccup?

Cakescakescakes · 07/09/2016 08:16

My ds2 hiccuped constantly in the womb and also when he was born. Hiccuping in babies once they are born can be an indicator of reflux so maybe just keep an eye out for that.
