Should I be worried

I'm 24w4d and for the last hour and half I've been having mild period pains accompanied by back ache and tightenings low down. The pains aren't painful but they are enough for me to stop what I'm doing. There every 2-10 minutes but only last a few seconds whereas the back pain lasts a few minutes. I remember my daughters labour and it started off similar to this.

Should I wait and see what happens or should I contact MW for advice

Contact your mw. Nobody ever regrets calling them....

Andysgirl15 · 02/09/2016 16:54

The pain has subsided for now but the back ache is still on and off. MW is not picking up at the minute

I think you should go to your maternity ward at your nearest hospital. Midwives are hard to get hold of esp on a Friday aft? Unless it is her mobile number/emergency number. I hope everything is okay.

Sending you lots of hugs xxx

Call. Could be a wee infection irritating uterus.

Andysgirl15 · 02/09/2016 17:59

Well spoke too soon. Pains are back and they seem to last a little longer. I'm gonna hold off and see if they intensify and go from there

I would get checked out. You won't regret going in for a quick monitor! And they won't say you are time wasting!

WellErrr · 02/09/2016 18:04

Go get checked.

Lovewatchingrainfall · 02/09/2016 18:08

I would get checked out. Even if the pain does go away, please get checked.

Hope all is okay.

OrianaBanana · 02/09/2016 18:09

Please go and get checked out. They would much rather you did that than worried at home. Flowers

ButtMuncher · 02/09/2016 18:12

Please go and get checked - you're not going to get anyone on here who realistically is going to tell you not to. You're at the stage now where they will want to intervene where possible and will see you on delivery suite/triage.

Andysgirl15 · 02/09/2016 18:20

I really want to but because the pain is only mild I'm worried they won't take me seriously or try and brush it off as braxton hicks. I know it's not BH as I've had them since 16 weeks and with that it's just all over tightening no pain whatsoever

Update. It eased off after a few hours yesterday but started again today but more painful so I'm on my way in to be monitored. Will update when I'm back home

drinkyourmilk · 04/09/2016 20:44

I hope everything has worked out ok

Andysgirl15 · 05/09/2016 20:51

Sorry about late reply. Everything came back fine. Blood pressure slightly low but they aren't concerned. They have no clue what caused the pain and it hasn't happened since so hopefully it was just a muscle thing.
