Am I pregnant?

I am 7 weeks post birth. Giving birth was wonderful. However, I am slightly worried that I might be pregnant again. I am breastfeeding and got my first period a month after birth, the bleeding gradually lessened but not completely, it became light brown, and now I have started bleeding again (something like spotting and not much). I have had sex with my husband a few times but he has not ejaculated in me. Why am I still having some bleeding? Shall I visit my GP?

Why clearly? I had a period, there has been no sperm that has gone in me.

Yes you could be pregnant. Take a test. I'm not sure if you have residual hcg though?

Lots of people use the pull out method and lots of people get pregnant using it. You probably aren't but you might be. Do a test. And then use proper contraception unless you want to get pregnant again.

Someone on another thread the other day said they got pregnant using the pull out method. You are at your most fertile in the couple of months post pregnancy, which is why you get contraceptive advice rammed down your throat at the six week check, I'd definitely take a test.

I'm honestly surprised someone who is a sexually active adult, let alone a mother, does not know that the withdrawal method is not a reliable form of contraception. Where have you been reading that it is?!

If you think there's no chance you're pregnant, then I don't understand why you're asking if you're pregnant. If you're concerned about bleeding you need to speak to a health professional.

Although some people bleed during pregnancy, bleeding is not usually an indicator of pregnancy.

I'm 21 wks pregnant...by withdrawal method, had been doing that for months but accidentally got a swimmer. Ooops....but a happy Ooooops now. 😁

Not to be rude but you're wrong. A study was done showing that men that produce semen in their pre-ejaculate ALWAYS produce semen in it, and those that don't never do. This was done to determine whether it was due to residual semen from masturbation or prior sex (for people who do it multiple times a day/night etc).

In short, having unprotected sex ALWAYS carries the possibility of pregnancy. So POAS.

This was one of my first posts on this site and it's probably my last! Most of the women on here are so unbelievably rude. I thought I'd make friends here, but it's a real shame that I won't.

I don't think the replies you have had have been rude. Not sure where you read that pre-ejaculatory fluid doesn't contain sperm as there is plenty of scientific evidence to show that it does and can result in pregnancy.
If your still bleeding seven weeks post delivery and chat with your GP would be a good idea. Yes you could be pregnant so worth taking a test.

so you have then said you are never coming back because you can't be pregnant?

All very confusing, nobody has been rude to you, quite the opposite, you need to POAS to see if you are pregnant and then go and see your GP if your concerned about bleeding - nobody can diagnosis you over the Internet.

The pull out is not a method, it is something made up mostly by men so they dont have to wear a condom

You could potentially be pregnant, but if you're exclusively breastfeeding at 7 weeks and using it's very unlikely. I suspect that you haven't had a period, just changes in the lochia flow.
