Skin turning yellow in pregnancy?

I'm 17+4 and I noticed the other day my legs looked a bit yellowy in colour. Today I noticed my stomach is the same. My partner just noticed as well and said your skin looks a bit yellow. Is this normal in pregnancy? Do I need to worry?

I would phone the out of hours service or midwife if you have got the number.

It's a blood test you need. You can't tell much without it. GP can do it.

CanandWill · 27/08/2016 11:23

Do you think it could be jaundice? You need to see a doctor.

FathomsDeep · 27/08/2016 11:23

No it's not a normal symptom of pregnancy. You need to get seen. I would phone out of hours. Are the whites of your eyes yellow? Is your urine discoloured?

cariboo · 27/08/2016 11:24

Get it checked. Could have something to do with your liver.

divadee · 27/08/2016 11:25

Wow thanks everyone for the quick replies. My eyes seem fine and urine seems a normal colour. And it's not a dark yellow as my first daughter had jaundice after birth and it's nowhere near as bad as that. Just a yellow tinge so to speak.

Maybe I will give 111 a ring.

Not normal, no. Call your midwife. There will be a number on your notes.

cookiefiend · 27/08/2016 11:30

If you have an out of hours number for the midwife use that rather than 111- you'll get better advice and likely a visit from your local team if needed.

divadee · 27/08/2016 12:06

Thanks everyone. Midwifes phone was switched off so I called 111 they have given me the number for an emergency GP that is open today saying its best I'm seen in 24 hours so will be giving them a ring.

I haven't turned into Marge Simpson so it's not an horrendous yellow colour just a slight tinge!

Good job for noticing a slight tinge. Hope everything goes ok with the doctor

Have you managed to get an appointment?

divadee · 27/08/2016 14:43

I'm going at 5 pottering. They run an appt based service. Better than a sit and wait on a bank holiday!

Awesome! Hope everything is ok Flowers

I've had 2 boys and both times around my mouth had turned yellow. It actually looked bruised I had been to doctors about it and they said it was jaundice but it wasnt anything to worry about. It only comes out now after my pregnancys when I'm stressed
