A lot depends on the way the baby is facing inside you. I think you should get in touch with your midwife and get her to check though.

Is that a typo in the post and you are 17 weeks? If so I am 17+3 and only just starting to feel flutters the past week and that's only if I'm lying down for quite a while. This is my 2nd pregnancy as well. I have had one or two firmer kicks but the rest are just tiny flutters.

Depends on baby position but I'd expect to feel movement by 24 weeks at the latest. Are you 17 weeks (title) or 27 weeks (post)? If you're 27 weeks I wouldn't expect to feel anything until 18-20 weeks and that is perfectly normal. Occasionally people feel movement much earlier but many feel nothing much till 20wks plus. If you are 17 weeks no need to go to midwife for this. If you are 27 weeks, maybe.
