Hey ladies,

Was just wondering whether anyone had any recommmend any companies that will cover you when 28/29 weeks pregnant.. so far I've tried Barclays, Norwich Union, Natwest and a specialist insurance company that covers old giffers to water-ski and bungee jump but again, wont cover you whilst pregnant...

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

I think Trailfinders Travel Insurance will cover you so may be worth speaking to them.
I don't think any policy will cover for anything related to the pregnancy/childbirth, but will cover for everything else.

Are you going to Eurpoe? If you have a health problem regarding pregnancy whilst in Europe you should be covered on your European health Card (E111)? It would be classed as an emergency and therefore should be covered. I am not certain of this but it would be worth checking out.

E111 has been replaced by a European Health Insurance Card. Website to apply

I needed one for DD when she went to camp in Croatia in the summer and it came within a few days.

Hi Geordiemacminx

I am 2 days shy of 20 weeks and we are going to the USA for first wedding anniversary and last baby free hols end of Mar when I'll be 27 weeks on way there and 28 weeks on way back - we have travel insurance from Tesco - they cover the pregnacy(plus we both has asthma and I have a food allergy). They were really helpful and seemed to be fine as long as you are not in last 8 weeks of pregnancy and you have the required doctors certificate or whatever for the air line. Good luck and have a nice holiday

I just spoke to Tesco, the girl that I spoke to reckons that they only cover upto 28 weeks... might try and fone again in a bit, as there is usually a huge inconsistancy {sp} in call centre staff. Thanks anyways

I used post office - they accepted me (slight premium) even though I'd had bleeding/problmes with pg ... worth a try??

Greenbee

"I am 12 weeks pregnant, am I covered under the policy?"

"Yes, as long as on the date you take it out, you're not expecting to give birth within 8 weeks before the trip, during the trip or 8 weeks after the end of the trip."

I'm struggling to find travel insurance for a trip to Norway when I will be 32 + 3 going and 33 weeks exactly coming back. I have rang about 20 companies but they only do up to 32 weeks. I have even rung high risk companies that would cover you if you had serious illnesses or even were terminally ill but they won't cover me being over (slightly) 32 weeks! Does anyone know of anywhere that would cover me up to 33 weeks? I would be covered by an E111 form but obviously that would only cover health costs not flights or accommodation if anything went wrong. Anyone got any advice?

Greenbee covered me
