We've decided the time is right for number 3.... And now we're both freaking out

We have spoken so mant times about adding another one to our existing family and decided to do it. But after all the waiting til the right time now we are both freaking out. We have a very nice life with our other 2 and now I'm just thinking of that turning upside down what with the whole doing it again thing and the maternity leave and nurseries....

Have any of you felt like this and have ant happy stories? I feel like I need them as I'm 38 and I know this is kind of the do it now or don't do it time.

I originally wanted 4, but freaked out when the time came. We decided to not have more than two, I have never regretted that decision, we have more disposable income, more time and more space

We had a similar conversation at new year, over a bottle of wine on our first child free night in months...DC3 is due next month! I'm 38 too - I guess it was now or never!

I think you only know yourself. You'll have people saying two is a lovely number and you'll have people saying seven is great.

We have three.

Three is much harder than having two. We're outnumbered for a start and if I'm looking after them on my own it's a juggling act.

But, it does depend on how old your other DC are and their nature.

I don't regret having three but the younger two are quite close in age and the eldest is five years older so it's hard to please all of them all of the time. I can be hard.

But newborns and DC are a blessing imo, it's what you make it
Why's your gut feeling?

I guess the old adage that you seem to regret things you don't do than those you do. I don't want us to regret not having another. Our other children are 7 and 8 and very well behaved etc and caring. They would love having a baby around but also it would take my time away from them.

I worry that if we have another and when times are hard with a baby I will feel like my dh might be having feelings of regret as we both know it's now or never though he seems to think nothing of us waiting for a few years til I am 40 and having one then. It's me saying no I'd rather have one now if we are having another.
