Names names names

so I have a name in mind for my baby due October 26th, only problem is the only place I've heard it before is as the name of a celebrities son. This person is 18/19 and just starting his own career in the limelight and I'm worried about how he will progress.....as the name isn't one that's popular if this celeb child turns out to be wild or horrible wil my child always be compared??
Does anyone have experience of sharing a name with a celebrity good or bad?

I don't really want to say what it is as we haven't told anyone so would fell funny outing it here :/

Well if it's Brooklyn you will get different responses to if it's John.

Hi vixx, it's not really what people think of the name rather do you think people will automatically compare? So if it was Brooklyn would people automatically compare him to Brooklyn beckham? As I said its a pretty unusual name so it isn't John :)

Is the son someone everyone will know? Names are so hard!

It really depends on the celebrity/name itself, but generally no I don't think it should put you off.

I don't think everyone will associate the name with him as he's not really well known....yet! I'm jut worried that because it's an unusual name if the celeb does something very wild people will only know the two f them........reckon I might be over thinking this he he
Elsie was a favourite name of mine too but figured that was too close to elsa if we were having a girl

My immediate thought was Rafferty, Jude Law's son? I like it. You can't worry about associations that might happen in the future. You can certainly avoid ones you know to be on shaky ground. We named ds2 and then a few months later a singer came on the scene with literally one letter difference, first and surname. Nothing we could do about it and now 4 years later it's pretty much forgotten.

I was mentioning the names because some names there may only be one of them (celebrity wise) but a name like Rafferty or Romeo are fine.
If that's the name you like I would go for it! As long as it isn't a totally ridiculous name like North West.

ANd for the record it's not north west or apple/ bear/ Moroccan Scott!!!

It depends on what the name is tbh. If it was Brooklyn or Romeo I would automatically associate it with the Beckhams. If it was Rafferty I wouldn't associate it with Jude Law as Rafferty is a much more widely used name
