Tick bite

Afternoon guys.
Just removed a tiny tick from my foot. Removed with the tick removing tool thingy properly!
I'm 7+6 and now freaking out about limes disease. Last time I walk the dog without the Wellie boots in the woods!!
Anyway has anyone else been in this situation? Should I call the doctor?

Not all ticks carry lymes disease and also it is very unlikely that ticks will transmit disease unless they are attached for a protracted amount of time, usually more than 24hrs. The risk of transmission is greater if the tick is smothered/suffocated rather than removed as you have done. I think it is fairly unlikely you will have a problem and I doubt your doctor would prescribe treatment 'just in case' but you could call if you are very concerned. Otherwise I would watch out for symptoms of lethargy and joint pain or a bullseye type lesion over the area the tick was removed. Hope this helps.

As above I would keep an eye out for symptoms, however you could ring NHS direct for reassurance.
