I'm 15 + 3, first pregnancy and I have quite a big belly already, it has been this way since 11-12 weeks. I thought maybe it's bloating at first, but it never goes down its always the same and just getting bigger. I'm still going to the toilet ok and wasn't overweight to start with and was a size 10. I know the baby is only small still so can't be this big already lol. Everyone keeps saying am I sure I'm only 15, it's making me feel huge! Has anyone else had this?

Honestly? Do not worry about it. You are carrying out front. You are slim. It will balance out. With my dd, at 16 weeks my dd's grandma told me I was fat and putting on far too much weight considering how long I had to go. At 40 weeks she told me my tummy was far too small and that I was starving the baby. Hmm. I measured 3 cm under the average but dd was 7lb15oz! I sprouted early. That was it. Relax and enjoy that bump!

BTW i'm a 10 too normally.

I'm the same, seem huge for 14 weeks but did this in my last pregnancy and was actually measuring 4 weeks behind in the end!

GinIsIn · 14/08/2016 19:42

I am the same - 14+2 with DC1 and I feel huge! I don't think you are as big as you feel, you are just more aware of your changing body so you feel bigger than you are, I think. Don't worry about it! Smile

I'm sure it will just be the way you are carrying, but my friend who looked pregnant very early turned out to be carrying twins!

Thanks everyone, everyone's reaction when I tell them how far gone I am is always so shocked. Thanks for your replies though Smilexx

I was the same at that point. Don't worry about it.

I also find that many people make inane comments about how big or small you are, and if you are sure it not twins. I've realised the comments don't mean anything. Take no notice. Enjoy your bump.

TerriB84 · 14/08/2016 22:24

I'm exactly the same. Been sporting an obvious bump since 12ish weeks. My DM has made a point of telling me every time she sees me that 'i really do look big for how far along I am'. It's really annoying and made me really self conscious.

iwillbemrsminty · 15/08/2016 14:31

I'm exactly the same too, at 14 + 3 I've already put on 7 lbs! But I know for certain that I am carrying twins!

Jamjar12 · 16/08/2016 09:06

Similar story here- had lots of comments from people saying 'wow, look at that amazing bump', 'definitely can't hide that' or 'not long left?' And I was only about 14 weeks!
My main worry was how big I would be by the end but I've definitely slowed down! I'm now 26 weeks and would say it's only just on the larger side of average. My bump is literally like a football under my top as its so round and neat lol. Friends I've had who had smaller bumps have been because there's have spread round to the sides more and just generally given a thicker middle appearance.
Don't worry, love your bump!

LondonRoo · 16/08/2016 10:45

I get it too! Yes it's only one and yes I'm sure I am only 17 weeks and not 6 months ... Bump is all out front and very sticky outy if that makes sense. Also it goes up and down and is worse if I have been vomiting - so some of it is probably bloat - in my case anyway!

Never had so many random people comment on my size!

Titchypanda · 16/08/2016 11:24

I'm 17w and huge. Was a size 16 before. Now I struggle in a 20. I have put on a stone and it's all the way round the middle, nowhere else. People look suprised when they find out I'm due in January because of the size of me!

Just keep eating (if you can keep food in) little and often and keep moving. I've found walking on treadmill and swimming really good.

I've known people who had barely a bump and people that were literally the size of an arm chair. A lot of weight will drop off when baby is born.

Good luck x

It is old saying .. that if you show a lot in early pregnancy.. either you have a baby girl .. or twins.

dont worry about showing... anyways sooner or later bump has to be shown .. so whats the problem .. enjoy your pregnancy .. and your precious motherhood :) kisses

LondonGirl83 · 17/08/2016 00:43

I have a visible bump at 14 weeks and I've lost 10 pounds due to illness. I wasn't bug before either. It's just how some people carry and doesn't necessarily have to with weight gain, I'm having a girl so perhaps the old wives tale is true.
