Does raspberry leaf tea actually work or is it a waste of time? I have bought the capsules and tea. What would everyone recommend to take?

I drank loads of it. From waters going in town to my little boy being in my arms I was 3 hours and 55 minutes. This included going home, getting changed, having a little tidy up etc, getting to hosp to be told I was 2cm and maybe I should go home - no thank you - up to a waiting ward thingy. They refused to examine me because it was too soon from the 2cm. I insisted and as well as I did as apparently I was 9cm and involuntarily pushing. Cue a rush up to labour and 25 minutes of pushing. I will def be back on it this time!

I only thought you could drink it from 35 weeks. I was also a week early x

Dixiechick17 · 07/08/2016 21:49

I drank it from 36 weeks around 3-4 cups a day, I quite liked it. My DD was born just over five hours after my first contraction, pushing itself took a while though and I had a weak cervix anyway, so the speedy birth was probably due to that.

Nope.

Two lengthy labours with forceps and PPH both times.

Drink something nice or eat some Jaffa cakes instead.

There's evidence that eating dates (as in the fruit) make your labour shorter and you less likely to go overdue.

study here

Despite a very long latent phase, my DD was out in 4 pushes which I put down to the raspberry leaf tea. I quite like it though. looking forward to getting back onto it in a few weeks!

Didn't do anything for me. I enjoyed drinking it but ds 10 days late and very long labour
