The torture of is this labour?

Anyone else is these last weeks when every little thing has you hoping labour is starting?? Its torture just waiting for me.

Yesterday I had back ache, for a few days baby has been quieter than usual (not worryingly so) today my nose started bleeding then I had diarreah first time in 7 months I've been able to go without it being a hassle.... All these little things have me thinking is this it? But its my second and I'm well aware these things can happen for weeks 😔

Hi. I was quite 'lucky' with my DS in thay I had absolutely nothing then bam - wide awake one night at 3 am with undeniable contractions coming thick and fast, 5 mins apart, then 4 then 3. 35 weeks into 2nd pregnancy and wondering if it'll be the same this time round!
What do you mean that baby has been quieter than usual? I don't want to worry you, being dramatic or scaremongering, but current guidance is that you need to get any changes in movement patterns checked out, the whole "you get less movements it he last few weeks" has finally been discarded as unsafe advice, and completely untrue. My friend does a lot of work with the charity Kicks Count (previously called Count the Kicks - but they changed the name as it's recognisig your baby's normal pattern of movement which is more important than an arbitrary number of movements in a certain period)

Totally. Yesterday's treat was shooting cramp pains down right thigh. I was like ministry of silly walks. My second too.

His pattern has changed over the last week or so more rolling and stretching last night there was a knee coming out of my belly button! Hes still responding to cold drinks, loud noises, change in temp and a good poke and moving at the same times of day, I have the same amount of movement just not as kicky. Hes engaged with his hands and feet to my back midwifes happy with his movements.

I've just walked to the loo on my tip toes thanks to a shooting pain down my bum 😂 I can't take another 5 weeks.

I felt like that with DC1. Three weeks of contractions, backache, feeling like I was going to pop. Went 13 days over but she came naturally.

This time I'm ignoring symptoms unless I'm in pain severe enough that I can't talk!

Totally in the same boat so you have my full sympathy!! Currently 38+6 with DS2. DS1 was an elective section at 41 weeks (turned breech at 40 weeks) so have never actually experienced labour.

Have been getting regular Braxton Hicks which are occasionally painful, random shooting pains, pressure down below etc etc. But nothing that could mean baby is coming imminently. Really sick of thinking 'Is this it?!' With every little twinge.

I'm 38+6 too and feeling similar! Ds1 was born at 39+6 so hoping i only have one more week of this. This dcs pattern is more pushes now too (sticking it's bum out, odd feet:knees/elbows poking out)

No twinges, tightenings or signs yet.. On Friday I felt OK about things, today I just want baby out, in so hot and uncomfortable!

I feel better not being alone in my frustrated misery I know it's just a waiting game but patience has never been my strong suit. I'm going for a lavender bath and some hypnobirthing to chill out now.

DS was induced at 41 weeks so I've never gone naturally either but I do remember having pains and Braxton hicks in the week before my due date by the time I was induced I was ready to go anyway, this time the changes started at 35 weeks. Ive hardly been out the loo today and had back ache on and off its driving me crazy wondering if it will turn into something. DS was the only late baby in my family from my sister mum and gran so I could go early I was born at 37 weeks.

Me too! I've for tummy ache tonight but think it's just trapped wind. My dd was born at 40 weeks exactly so I'm expecting this one to be around then too although I know they're all different...I'm getting impatient already I'm 37 weeks.

40+4 and utterly fed up! Had more signs at 37/38 weeks than I do now. Tried absolutely everything with no luck

Convinced it was going to happen last night.

Today I've been physically fine but nesting like crazy the problem is I'm totally organised everything's done so I resorted to packing the nappy bag and washing the 3-6 month clothes I have.... I'm pouncing falling on dp when he gets home

39 weeks...I was convinced I was in labour last Friday night . I had BY with backache and pressure in pelvis. Was just about to wake DH when it all faded to nothing.

I was also induced last time so I'm not 100% sure what to expect when it does kick off.. .

I'm 32 weeks with 1st
Baby has been wriggling a lot more than usual and also what i can only describe as stretching and long movements (not sure if he is turning, he has been head down right way up for some time now). I feel uncomfortable especially in my tummy, had tummy aches for few days and upset tummy today aswell as feeling constantly nauseas.
My bump also seems to have dropped and lost its firmness
Has anyone felt like this THIS early? If i was 37+ weeks I think I'd be getting quite excited. I'm not nervous either which is strange for me as I've been an anxious mess throughout.

Alice I had nausea and tummy upsets from about 30 weeks with my first it was when he got bigger and dropped down a little. It's quite common at your stage to start to have a change in symptoms though your a few weeks into your third trimester from my experience and friends there are a few parts to the third for me 28-32 then 32-36 then change again in the last few weeks.

I'm 38 weeks and having my first... Had a couple of spells of painful wind that I thought could be the start! Monitoring every day at the hospital until my next scan (reduced FM and they're just being ultra careful) until Thursday and just utterly fed up with appointments and feeling so heavy! I am half terrified of labour (recently diagnosed as strep b so extra stress) and half just wanting to get it done and meet her already. Every day I wonder if we will start but she's only 3/5 engaged so probably will not be early :/ plus it's bloody hot and I feel like a human radiator all the time. Getting v cranky already

Oh shell I had that first time round managed to escape it this time with some hard work.

luna that sounds so stressful for you. Engaged doesn't mean ds1 was engaged from I think 36/7 weeks but still was induced, this one has been engaged for 3 weeks. I'm very scared of labour too after being induced last time and I had a spinal for forceps so the start and end feel all new to me.

I'm 38+4 now, and baby feels so low, getting a lot of pressure down below and constantly feel like I need to do a number 2 a lot of new backache too, and it sounds weird but often feel like my waters are about to go. I'm not holding out much hope though, think he'll come late!

I think I may be too excited to go into labour. I just saw a tiny baby at the shops and was like squuuuueeee.

Lol wine I'm tempted to ask to smell new babies in the hope it will kick start my body into producing one a friend once told me holding and smelling a neighbours newborn put her into labour

There have been a few times my babies stretching or BH have been so strong I've actually thought omg my waters will go. So far I've held it in. I'm just about to head out to my fitness class and an wondering if I should wear a maternity pad just incase I will die if my waters burst movie style while doing a squat!

kiki that has been happening to me!! The baby moves or I have a BH contraction and it honestly feels like I'm going to go POP. I even started a thread on here about to ask if that actually happens I.e. you feel like they're going to go and they do! The consensus was no by the way! My waters didn't break until just before dd was completely born so I have no experience of it...I kind of want them to break before that this time as it sounds quite exciting but I maybe just losing my mind now

Mine went in hospital in labour I was having a contraction at 5am all alone on the induction ward when I heard a pop and felt the gush I've never been so happy in my life because it meant I could go to the labour ward and they would let dp in. It was quite a loud pop I wish someone had been there to hear it it would have been rather dramatic 😂

Still no baby today for me however my hands feet and face are looking slightly puffy which my mum says was a sure sign labour was coming for her.
