As you most probably know from previous posts I have been really stressed this week. Work up this morning with lots of tummy pains and a bit of pinke discharge. (sorry I know this is far too much info). They have an Early Preg Unit at my hospital during the week and I was going to go tomorrow. Do you think I need to?

I am 13 weeks pg.

Sorry about all the typos!

I don't know if it means anything or not but when I was pg, if I was ever worried about anything I just got checked out. It's horrible worrying and it would be pretty simple to go in and get seen. IME, they are always happy for you to go in for any worry - they would rather you do than stress about it.

I think I would go just to put your mind at rest.I'm 27 weeks pg and bled at 7,11,15 and 18 weeks, which again wasn't very much and was mainly a pink coloured discharge. The first time it happened I did go to the EPU and they would only offer me an internal scan, which I didn't want at the time. The other times it's happened I haven't gone to the hospital as it's been a very very minimal amount and only on wiping after going to the toilet(sorry if TMI).Although it's not "normal" to bleed it isn't uncommon, but seeing as you're further on than I was, they will probably do a tummy scan which'll hopefully put your mind to rest.

I think that as you've already had a stressful week, the last thing you need is something else to worry and feel anxious about. I'd suggest getting checked out if only to put your mind at rest and to help you start a new week afresh. It can't hurt to ask for advice, so why not?

I am definitely going. I have felt rubbish all day with tummy cramps. I need to know whats going on.

I'd ring first if I were you. Simply because at 15 weeks I had a huge bleed and spent 2 hours at one A&E and 3 hours at another, only to be told in the end that they couldn't scan me until Monday.

You really don't want to spend hours at the hospital if their sonographers don't work weekends.

But get it checked out - good to put your mind at rest

Hi Claire,

I hope everything is going okay for you and sorry to hear you are having a stressful time. I have my fingers crossed for you.

I think it is definitely a good idea to get checked out, I know it is an awful feeling and I know it is fraustrating these things happening on a weekend. I am 16 weeks and have had bleeding both last weekend and this weekend and gone to A&E both times. I was at the EPU on Monday and they checked for the baby's heartbeat and did an internal examination. Thankfully everything was fine. At A&E yesterday I asked them to check for a heartbeat, something they didn't do last time and I don't think they would have done had I not asked.

I don't know if they can do this for you at 13 weeks but it is worth asking. I know it made me feel loads better.

Thinking of you! Take care and take it easy.

From another stressed mum to be, trying to chill out.
