Baby is measuring small at 7 weeks scan

Hi ladies,
I'm very anxious as I just had our 7 week scan and the baby was measuring 6w+2. The dates aren't wrong as it's an ivf baby. The embryo measured 6.2mm and the Foetal Heart Beat is 112bpm.
Should I prepare for a miscarriage?
Booked to scan again in 10 days.
Many thanks xxx

The wait is agonising :(

I really do feel for you- it's painfully long. I had nearly three weeks to wait between my two scans and in that time I was just in limbo. Especially as all my pregnancy symptoms started to vanish- it was horrid.

But. What kept me going was thinking- there was a heartbeat. Plus- you are totally within the tolerance of error in the measurements!

I also was told at my 12 week scan that another reason for the poor reading at the 8 week scan was my tilted uterus- has anyone ever told you that you gave this? It makes early scans very tricky to see and date.

Thanks scarydinosaurs. I kerp alternating between feeling like there's hope to deciding it wont work out. My symptoms also seem to have eased slightly. No I've never been told I have a tilted uterus. I've been pregnantrying twice before so feel like I'd know if it was. X

I knew I had one but totally forgot and didn't realise it affected the visibility at early scans.

Honestly- nine days too small, I was completely convinced I was going to get dreadful news and had completely prepared myself. I was shocked to see the baby on the scan last week. They'd also picked up on a large fluid sac (probably a blood clot) next to the baby and were telling me to expect a bleed too.

A few days out really truly is fine, and a heart beat is really the very most important thing. How many days to count down now? I hope your DH and family are giving you lots of support.

I'm wishing you all the luck in the world. I had an awful night's sleep the night before, so I hope you're more successful than me.

I just received my bloods plus Nuchal Down syndrome etc risk result- 1 in 100,000 so another massive load off my mind. I really truly hope you are able to have the same experience I did tomorrow.

Wishing you all the best- and try and sleep tonight!

Twodogsandahooch · 09/08/2016 20:45

Good luck DRS. I know how stressful early pregnancy can be.

Fourfifthsof · 09/08/2016 20:46

I went for an 8 wk scan and the MW said my LO was measuring small - a week behind the dates... He's asleep upstairs now, weight and height off the charts at his 1 year health review.

Best of luck for tomorrow OP - I hope everything is ok. Cake Brew

Good luck today! Hoping for good news for you 🙂

drinkyourmilk · 10/08/2016 08:34

Good luck DRS, I had an early scan yesterday due to bleeding. I measured 5+5 when I'm actually 6+1. Ivf baby too so I know exactly how far along I am.
Midwife and clinic said it's normal to measure out as everything is very small. I'm sure it will be fine

cookielove · 10/08/2016 11:24

Good luck op!

DRSLondon · 10/08/2016 12:49

Thanks all. Sadly it wasn't meant to be. Appreciate all your good wishes. I'll be ok xxx

I do, thank you. Feeling quite philosophical about it. I have been through a loss at 21 weeks so I know I will be fine. Sometimes it just isn't meant to be. I also feel incredibly blessed to have a beautiful 17 month old and will focus on him for now. X

I'm so sorry

Scarydinosaurs · 11/08/2016 01:12

Yes, that is absolutely the best way to approach it. I hope your son gives you the strength you need for this, you are absolutely correct- children are a blessing. Flowers

marmitecrumpets · 11/08/2016 01:13

So sorry OP
