I'm nearly 23 weeks pg with my first and today i have had the most unreal pain in my lower regions, just above my pubic bone and generally in that area. I had it when i had been sat down and stood up, i had to sit back down again because it felt like it would criple me, no exageration! It's so painful, it comes and goes though. One minute i'm curled up in pain and the next it's gone. Does anybody know what this might be? It's making me miserable, i did think it might be spd, but this is the first time i've really had it and it's not constent. And when i went to the toilet earlier for a no.2, sorry if tmi it felt like my arse was about to fall out, it hurt so much.

SPD.....and also the stretching of the ligaments ..... poor you...it is misery.....try wrapping a wide and long piece of fabric around your hips , under your bump to hold the pelvis together

a hormone called relaxin ( i think!) is produced when you are pregnant to soften the ligaments and the pelvis, to allow the baby to come through, the downside is, the pelvis wiggles around and you get excruciating pain.

if you search the archives, there are lots of threads about SPD....with lots of tips for getting through it x

don't know but I do know that if I am constipated or do a big poo (sorry if TMI again!) and the baby moves onto a particular nerve, it hurts like hell.
Have you got piles? They would hurt as well. Or it might be sciatica - which I also have

It might be worth mentioning to your MW next time you see here though just in case it's something else.

No not constipated, just spoke to midwife who said if it gets any worse she'll come and get me and take me to hospital for a check up, she's coming to see me this weekend to check on me too.
