Antenatal care in Watford?

Long shot I know, but wondering if anyone has any experience of being PG in West Herts recently?! Having a bit of a meltdown - according to LMP I'm 11+6, but I haven't been given a date for my 12-week scan....and I'm off on holiday for two weeks next week. I'm happy to ring and chase for an appointment but I don't know who to ring! Because of where I live, I was told I'd have my MW appointments in Berkhamsted, outpatient appointments in Hemel or Stoke Mandeville, and give birth in Watford.

Where would I have a dating scan?! I asked the midwife last week but she was completely dismissive....and has now gone on holiday!

Any insight gratefully received!

Christ they sound unhelpful. I don't have any real advice except that if you want to have the NT screening done you'll need it done before your holiday as you'll be too far along otherwise. I would call the hospital in Watford and ask who you should be contacting re scans, and really impress on them that you need one done ASAP, but at this point you may need to book yourself in for a private NT scan if you can't get any answers.

Thanks elderberries - yes, that was my panic, knew there was a deadline on the nuchal tests. Will give Watford a ring - guess I was a just a bit put off by the MW's 'why would you be chasing this?' attitude! Delightful...the next six months is going to be a joy!

I think it may be slightly different as (although I've now moved to Berkhamsted) I was originally in Watford and so saw my GP there. I self referred via the hospital and all my appointments have been really efficient - my understanding was that my midwife booked my 12 week scan after my booking in and it was confirmed by post.
All my midwife appointments have been struggling my GP, and my scans at Watford General.
Not sure how helpful that is. If you need to, we used Ultrababy in Watford for an early scan at 9 weeks and they were really good.
Hope you get it sorted, it would worry me too.

Hi, no problem! It's 01923 217347 - they were really helpful. Interestingly, at my booking in the MW advised me to keep all my appointments in Watford even though we'd moved as she seemed to think it would be simpler.
We just moved in March, but really like it here, thanks!

Hey! I'm currently 24 plus 3 and have had all my scans at Hemel so far, I've been really happy with them also the appointments run perfectly to time which is pleasantly surprising! Good luck!
