Gift for new parents - funny or offensive?

Alongside something for the newborns I fancied making this. It's twins so will need a little editing.

I'm not twee nor is the recipient, but I am a little unsure as to if it's a little too far.

It sums up how I felt when I had my dcs but may not be everyone's cup of tea!

I like it but I have the word fuck cross stiched on a sampler.

It's the juxtaposition between the brutal words and the twee presentation that makes the concept work. Water down the wording and you're left with nothing.

Just to let you know that we are going to delete this thread as it has been reported to us for advertising a business (and we don't allow members to conduct market research on our Talk Boards).

Apols, folks, we were a wee bit hasty here! Blush

We've reinstated the thread now, as we don't think any underhand schpam was intended. Sorry, OP - as you all were.

Thanks for letting me back into the fold!

I don't have any business to advertise, it's just an image from Pinterest that I thought I could make myself as a gift.

"If you wake 'em you take 'em"

Is what I would put

PinkyPlumet · 27/07/2016 15:39

As someone who has struggled with self harm I find it a bit grim.

FenellaFerranti · 27/07/2016 15:41

Also the word 'cut' soon after a section or episiotomy might be a bit much to take!

Seekingmiracles · 27/07/2016 16:24

There will always be people who find this kind of humour vulgar. I personally find it funny and would laugh if I was given it. It's not as if by having this given as a gift someone is actually going to 'cut' someone! People need to lighten up, it's not meant in the most literal of senses.
You know your friend and her sense of humour. If you think she'll see the funny side, go ahead and do it.
