Blood Pressure?!?!?!?

Been to hospital today for anc. Was reading my notes when I came out and my blood pressure seems to have dropped quite a bit since last time I had it done, but I don't really understand it!! midwife never mentioned it just me worrying!!

Last time I had it done it was 120/70, but it has gone down to 98/55?? Anyone know if this is low??

How many weeks are you? Blood pressure usually drops in second trimester.

I'm 17 weeks and 2 days now!!

That's the reason then . Pregnancy hormones cause your blood vessels to relax at this stage.

That's pretty normal in the 2nd trimester due to blood vessel diatation (as already said). It may rise again towards the end as your blood volume increases. One-off blood pressure readings can vary quite a bit - just as yours has done. 98/55 is fine, as long as you are feeling ok. Keep drinking lots of fluids!
