Insect bite

I'm almost 31w pg and enjoying the British sunshine we're finally having! However, insects seem to be aiming for me, and last night I felt one of them sting or nip me. As I went to flick it away, I noticed it was very small and black - looked like a miniature beetle. It felt a bit sting-y, I had a small lump come up, but then I decided to wash it in soap and water and it settled. I have the tiniest mark there this morning.

I feel a little worried though - are insect bites like this dangerous at all during pregnancy (to the baby, not to me)? I have a midwife appointment tomorrow, so I will ask her, too. I just feel a bit worried.

I doubt it, so long as you're not somewhere with tropical diseases!

Thanks for answering Smile I know I'm probably being silly (we are in the UK) ... Thanks again.
