How early did you feel flutters?

Nearly nine weeks with dc2 and I'm convinced I've just felt movements. Didn't feel them until 18 weeks with dc1. Am I imagining this, or is it wind?!

Just before 12 weeks with DC4

Very late with DC3 (anterior placenta)

Can't remember the other two!

ComeOnKenneth · 17/07/2016 17:03

So do you reckon it's a possibility, fresh start?

I'm sure that the first time was about 13 weeks for me. You never know,it could be.

ladylambkin · 17/07/2016 17:07

My first baby was around 18 weeks but the other 2 much earlier at around 10-11 weeks

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 17/07/2016 17:08

17 weeks

ComeOnKenneth · 17/07/2016 17:13

Thanks for your replies! I won't assume it's my usual fartiness necessarily, then Grin

You can't feel movements that early. It's a physical impossibility.

Sorry! But you really, really can't.

Afreshstartplease · 17/07/2016 17:17

I'm not sure! I wasn't convinced myself for a while with this baby! Have you had a scan are your dates def right?

bobcat85 · 17/07/2016 17:18

The baby is the size of a grape at 9 weeks so it would be incredibly unlikely.

FellOutOfBed2wice · 17/07/2016 17:19

My DD there was an anterior placenta and I was easily 17 or 18 weeks. But with this pregnancy I thought I felt something at 11 weeks and know I definitely did at 13. Placenta at the back this time.

YoungGirlGrowingOld · 17/07/2016 17:19

18 weeks for me Smile although it does feel a bit like a creeping fart, so who knows....

ComeOnKenneth · 17/07/2016 17:20

No, not had a scan yet, fresh, dates could be wrong.

Yeah, it seems a little unbelievable at this stage, tbh!

I'd just keep seeing if it happens again

When it started with me this time I realised it definitely was baby as it became more frequent

Dueindecember2016 · 17/07/2016 18:02

I think I have but in not sure. It's not possible to feel movements until the second trimester.

You'll feel the real flutters soon x

tutulove · 18/07/2016 10:44

DC1-20 weeks
DC2-15/16 weeksish

ayria · 18/07/2016 15:19

Felt first once about 14ish weeks but that was it until just before 20wks. I'm about 11/12wks now with second and have felt light flutters about twice, thought it was gas or something until I read some can feel flutters at 13wks. I think it's possible around 11ish weeks or more. Babies grow at different rates (I mc'd at about 10wks and the baby was about 5/6cm from head to rump) but I think 9wks is a bit early.

It can be all sorts of things. Your insides are gradually being squashed upwards and moving about to different places.

ComeOnKenneth · 18/07/2016 20:10

Thanks for all your replies. It was sort of a definite twang feeling (the first one), like when you have a muscle jump, but deep inside. Very like a bounce, or a kick when they're bigger. Then a few more, much less noticeable ones.

Checked my knicker elastic and everything! We tend to run to smaller (although blooming strong) babies in our family, so I'm sure I was mistaken.

I have had a few "twangs" too Kenneth especially when rolling over in bed. I think a lot depends on where the baby and placenta is. My obgyn says they don't worry until 25 weeks as there is so much variation.

Am now 19 weeks and DS to be is jiving around all over. Had quick scan at obgyn on Monday and he was kneeling down in a "beating head on desk" pose. Weirdo! Grin

ComeOnKenneth · 20/07/2016 18:33

Young girl, that's so funny! Love the pose. My DD was bouncing around poking me with her pointed fingers at our 20 week scan. She dances like that now (3.5). I could tell quite a bit of her traits and gestures just from watching her move about. She grew up and did them. So maybe your DS will sleep like that Grin

No flutters at all! Just a kick at 18 weeks Smile

Havingkittens04 · 20/07/2016 19:43

First pg - 18 weeks with DD

Second pg - 11 weeks, but I'd lost 2 stone due to HG, so Doctor said it was a possibility and I wasn't crazy

Currently 13 weeks pg and have felt my tummy 'flip' twice over last couple of days. It's like when you're going down a dip on a roller coaster. Looked it up and webMD says on subsequent pregnancies you may find you feel this from 13 weeks...
