constant dull period pain - could this be it??

I've been awake all night with constant really low down dull but pretty uncomfortable period pain. Could this be the start of labour? I remember period type pain with DD 1 but it was more on and off and then turned into contractions - this seems constant.

Sounds like it could be, what's your due date? I'm 39 weeks today so waiting for something to happen!

Fingers crossed for you!

Desmondo2016 · 17/07/2016 08:00

It definitely could be, but it doesn't necessarily means it's imminent today.

ricecrispies16 · 17/07/2016 08:09

I'm in the same boat, been having this for 4 days now, getting progressively worse and think I'm losing my plug. So frustrating not knowing though!

mellmumma · 17/07/2016 09:10

I had this two weeks ago... Still no baby at 39+5.....Hmm

LimesMum · 17/07/2016 09:31

I'm 40+6

I've had period pains on and off for weeks but this was constant and then this morning I had a few definite sort of more intense almost contraction like pains so got excited and now absolutely nothing!!!

Hopefully your body is getting ready to go!

malvinandhobbes · 17/07/2016 09:51

Me too. I am only 38 weeks, but this is further along than I ever was with my others. I had two hours sleep last night because of the cramping but no signs of contractions and waters are fully intact. My last two labours were unambiguous, this one is driving me crazy. I tell myself it will be unambiguous when it starts, and the rest of this is just noise. But I still feel a bit crazy and a bit worried. We have guests for lunch today, should I cancel? Can we go on that outing?

Good luck OP.

Jodie1982 · 17/07/2016 10:40

That's how my labours started. Dull period pain that would gradually ramp up in intensity. Good luck!

mellmumma · 17/07/2016 12:04

Fingers crossed for you it is the beginning OP! Keep the lunch date, far more chance of it being labour if you have plans! Grin

LimesMum · 17/07/2016 17:15

Been getting more intense pains which I think are startings of contractions but there no pattern at all - sometimes 3 in 10 mins sometimes 3 in and hour!! They also seem to come on more when I'm standing up or moving about

Unsure when to go to hospital!!

Any more progress? Sounds like you aren't far from meeting baby! Keep us updated and good luck

LimesMum · 17/07/2016 22:52

No baby yet!! The contractions are so sporadic!! Haven't a clue when to actually go in!! I thought we might be there by now but looks like another long night ahead Confused

Afreshstartplease · 18/07/2016 05:49

Any news limes?

CaramelPrincess · 18/07/2016 06:07

My mum is a midwife & when I had my DS she told me to hang on going to the hospital until the contractions were like every 5 minutes...not the advice I wanted to be fair

mellmumma · 18/07/2016 09:34

Aww here's hoping it all kicked up a gear overnight! Flowers
