Hi there, I have a little boy who is 13 months, and I am now 13 weeks pregnant. Getting a little obsessed googling the nub and skull theories for this one!!! Can anyone help me out... Leaning towards boy because of the nub being so prominent!! Desperate to find out and 3 weeks to wait.. I'm too impatient! thank you xx

Google the Chinese gender predictor. It goes by age of you at conception and month of conception. It was correct for my two kids and the 5 friends who had a go with me.

Thank you both! I did the Chinese calendar for my first- and it was correct .. A boy. Struggling to do for this on though as conception either end of April or beg May and these months bring up girl and boy lol! Ahh!!

I've not heard of this way by looking at the scan, how does that work? When you say 'nub' is that the forehead part? xx

I had 15 separate guesses of 'girl' from the nub theory and I'm having a boy! No one guessed boy but the Chinese predictor said boy..........

I don't think any of these theories are anymore than guess work ... But fun! And maybe make the waiting to find out sex go quicker
The nub theory is based on what looks like boy bits... You can see it clearly on my first scan pictures. Apparently if it's over 30 degree angle to the spine it's a boy... Any less or parallel to spine it's a girl!

If you post that in InGender website under gender predictions, they will give you a good idea. What is the gestation of the actual scan? If it's over 12 weeks, there's a reasonable chance of it being a girl, as it's a longish flat nub with a fork at the end. However some boy nubs can occasionally look like that too. If you are very keen and have lots of time to burn then have a look through the boys and girls nubs gallery on the website!

Hayhay - the nub is the little stick with a bump on the end, near baby's tummy/legs. It's basically the genitals, called a nub on scan pics. For boys it is 'stacked' and short, (basically little boys bits!) whereas girls nubs are often long, forked and flat. However it's not an exact science as sometimes the angle of the actual scan pic can be misleading. Before 12 weeks, the nubs often look the same, and a flat forked nub can 'rise' into being a stacked nub at 13 weeks. So if the pic is well past 12 weeks and looks flat and forked, there's a good chance it might be a girl. However I have seen nubs which are totally girly that turn out to be boy and vice versa. It's just a general rule of thumb but not an exact science.

Thank you daisygarden , scan was 12+5. A girl would be lovely... But got gut feeling another boy... Which we will of course be over the moon with too We will see I guess! thanks for your thoughts xx

Congratulations. I keep looking at my scan picture and I have no idea if its a boy or girl. I'm not going to lie im desperate for a little girl. People keep saying I hope its a girl aren't helping . I have 2 wonderful sons and this is definitely going to be our last. I'm not going to find out at the 20 week scan.
