Congratulations and welcome nitnat!

LuckyinOctober · 11/08/2016 22:08

Brenna I got really excited then when I saw your name here, it's nice to hear from/ see you. TTC is such a frustrating time and surely it'll be yours and DH's month soon Flowers

Jpeg it was really lovely, I'm 15+3 today. Another milestone today, I had a work colleague (and later, DH) comment on how big my bump is getting. Although today that's part baby and part doughnut..

Macauley · 11/08/2016 22:34

mike I'm so glad to hear that someone else has had the same thought as me! Last night I was going to phone my doctor first thing today and demand they examine me just in case I need a stitch but don't know.
I'm also antibacterial wiping everything in my sight. Give me the heads up what the next freak out is when you get there! Smile

HopefulKate1980 · 12/08/2016 08:16

nimnat yeah!! Great to have you here. Warmest congratulations!!

brenna I'm sorry it's been tough. TTC is relentless. But I do hope that your time is just round the corner. Tell your DH he has no room to be tired!!! Although I do absolutely know the importance of having a fella that's up for it. I remember times I pushed my DH and it didn't go well. Really hope you are here with us soon. Xxxx

I've been having a tough few days. Fear has started creeping in. My oldest school friend texted me a picture of her newborn and it sent me into a blind panic. 5 more days before our scan. It would destroy me if it was bad news. I mustn't let negative thoughts creep in especially not on holiday but it's very hard. I think it's all the time I've got to think & obsess. Argh!!!!!! Please God whoever you are please let this work out this time. It's all I need.

Sorry for the fearful rant! I'm just petrified. Hope everyone is faring better than me!!!!

Xxx

mrs really good to hear from you... Symptoms sound great! Good luck with the scan.

Congrats nitnat!! Yes you are pretty much the same as me! I'm only 15dpo and had BFP at 12dpo I'm petrified! Haven't had any sore boobs yet which I had at this stage last time but have loads of little tiny cramps and twinges. Hoping that's ok!

lucky that's amazing 15 weeks! Love that someone commented on your bump... I really look forward to getting big Grin

kate good luck in your scan... I'll be thinking of you. Stay positive! X

doleritedinosaur · 12/08/2016 15:36

Those of you worrying about cervical stitches if you're having any scans just ask about cervix length.
They're checking mine at 14 & 18 weeks as I had previous treatment on mine but I've had to remind the midwife 4 times now. She is getting back to me.

It's supposed to be over 3.2 I think, length wise. Might have to double check that but it is extremely rare & they do tend to check it I think when you're scanned. But doesn't hurt to ask.

Went on a play date today & 1 of the mum's is 3 weeks ahead of me & the rest knew so I said I was too but now I'm scared I jinxed it even though I'm knackered, nauseous & starving!
Think it's because it's 13 days until next scan. I'm definitely getting harder stomach wise as well.

Hope everyone is doing well & fingers crossed for next scan Kate!

I'm tackling the bedroom at the moment, keeps me busy but I'm so hungry I might have to find some food.

5tardusty · 12/08/2016 15:42

Just checking in briefly. 7+1 today, had a slight bit of nausea yesterday afternoon which pleased me no end, as i am otherwise symptomless.

Been on the progesterone trial since tuesday and since then have not had any sign of spotting. I am hoping that it is not the placebo and it is in fact helping me.

I am dying to do some exercise but until my scan next week i am scared to do very much in case it starts off the bleeding. If the outcome is positive i am going to start swimming and walking again.

Happy friday everyone

Slightly (or rather, very) personal question - is anyone else getting painless contractions - Braxton Hicks I guess - triggered by orgasm? First time we've had sex in ages last night, and straight after my womb went rock hard, it was most bizarre, very odd feeling. It was still at it this morning when I woke up. I didn't have these at all with DD, but I guess it's all they are and nothing to be worried about?

16+ a bit now, consultant on Tuesday next week.

Thinking of you purple, how's your DH and family coping?

Whatsername17 · 12/08/2016 16:53

I get that, butterfly. Feel a bit like waves of tightening. My bump goes hard every now and then when stood up. Feels softer when I lay down. My maternity exemption certificate came today. I put off sending the form in because last time it arrived the day I found out my baby had died. My gp told me to keep and use it. I did for the antibiotics I was prescribed for the post mc infection I had but have just carried it with me since. This time I wanted to wait until the 12 week scan and even then vouldnt bring myself to post the form. Dh did it last week apparently. I've just had a sob because I can't bring myself to throw the other one away. It's null and void now and that makes me so sad.

purpleviolet1 · 12/08/2016 17:11

Thanks ladies for your kind words. Feel numb yet to be honest.

I'm 6+5 today. Do you recommend a scan at 7 weeks or should I try hang on till 8 weeks? Obviously depends what availability EPU have. I haven't phoned them yet and wondering when to do it. I don't want to have it booked in for ages.

purpleviolet1 · 12/08/2016 17:15

I think I asked this before. My mind isn't working sorry! How big is the difference in growth between 7-8 weeks? Would it be noticeable on the scan if all is well? I don't think I could cope with heartbreak at the moment but at the same time I need something positive to keep me going.

Next bloods on Monday. Maybe I'll phone the EPU after I get results on Tuesday.

MissClarke86 · 12/08/2016 17:31

I would wait until 8 weeks. 7 weeks is an ambiguous time with heartbeats etc. At 8 weeks there should be a heartbeat and it resembles a baby - much less likely to get the "we can't see much lets scan in 2 weeks" scenario.

purpleviolet1 · 12/08/2016 17:37

I wouldn't mind another scan in 2 week Grin I should add I'll be having a private scan if I get her chance to aswell.

Naschkatze · 12/08/2016 17:46

Very sorry to hear your news Purple. The sonographer who did my private scan said that 8 weeks was better and if all is well then, the chances are good.

Pleased to see more new names here!

Butterfly I got that kind of tightening you've described. Put me off for a bit because I was scared something was going wrong!

12 weeks today! Bit confused what's going on with my stomach. I'm noticing a small, slowly growing 'bump' just above my pelvic bone but my tummy is definitely a lot bigger too and feels quite hard. Did anyone else get this? Or am I just eating too much? Blush Bit worried I'm starting to look about 15 weeks and people will notice! Sorry for the vain post.Blush

purpleviolet1 · 12/08/2016 17:50

Congrats on reaching 12 weeks! I think I'll take your advice.

I'll have the bloods on Monday and take it from there

doleritedinosaur · 12/08/2016 18:05

If you can get to 8 weeks Purple, there's a lot more to see & less limbo so to speak. I hung on & got one at 8+3. Midwife managed to get me the next available appointment.
Glad you're doing okay.

I'm putting mine off until the scan Whatser, but it's all filled out.

OH said I'm starting to pop again.

My breasts are so sore. I forgot how bad the nipples get.

Whatsername17 · 12/08/2016 18:09

I'd phone nearer 7 weeks to hopefully get in at 8 weeks. I agree with Miss Clarke, the last thing you need is to have to have a rescan.

jpeg28 · 12/08/2016 18:14

I'm not sure whether to get a private scan... The closest one to me is £100... Do you guys think it is worth it? Also... Anyone not have sore boobs at the start??

Macauley · 12/08/2016 18:19

purple I got an nhs scan at 9 weeks, baby looked a bit blurry but all was there. Don't think there would be too much difference at 8 weeks. Hope your doing ok.

butterfly no idea I've not let him near me since we probably conceived! Haha

Thanks dino I think I just freaked out as I thought nobody checked there. Feel better knowing they check it at the scan. I also felt like I was jinxing things by telling people. I've just told people as and when and it feels more manageable.

5tardusty · 12/08/2016 18:52

jpeg mine are only tender when i poke them (daily) and more so under the arms to begin with.

Macauley · 12/08/2016 19:12

I haven't really had sore boobs. I get a really stabby pain now and again but nothing that's really bothered me or stood out.

Whatsername17 · 12/08/2016 19:29

I never got sore boobs early on either. Even after 9 weeks they weren't very sore. I've had two private scans and I've felt that they were both worth it. The sonographer was a trained midwife and spent lots of time talking us through everything g and answering questions. The scans were much cheaper for me though. £40 gorgeous the 1st trimester scan and £60 for the 2nd trimester one. The only thing is say is the relief doesn't last long. I had the last one last Monday and now I'm back to worrying again.

doleritedinosaur · 12/08/2016 19:36

My breasts were sore on and off early on but I know with DS it was 13 weeks I was sobbing & had to buy cotton bras. A lot earlier now, doesn't help DS is still breastfeeding.

I'm not sure if they check it at the dating scan Mac but I'm sure if you mention it at your next scan they should say what they're checking. 3.5cm is the average.

That is a lot Jpeg, they were £40 in my old area which wasn't too bad. If it gives you the comfort you need and you can afford then it can be better for mental health.

I've had to throw away 2 dinners tonight, I'm so hungry so trying again now. I guess that's a good sign though.

Macauley · 12/08/2016 20:31

Just sitting here cuddling my dog crying at the Olympics, rock and roll Friday night!
