I've made the new thread, hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes... just wanted to make sure we had one.

Don't be silly, really appreciate all the kind words

So sorry for bombarding the thread with the negativity. I'll let you know how I get on at the docs.

Congratulations, Kate!
Butterfly, so sorry you are having a tough time- it is completely understandable though. Same with purple. This thread is for those for whom pregnancy has lost its sparkle and becomes a mission for survival. Vent away because we all get it.
I went to Kiddicare yesterday and bought a pregnancy pillow. Dd saw a toy she wanted to get the baby and I bought a footmuff for the pram we don't have yet because it was absolutely bargainous. Then I helped dh paint the coving in the living room and now I'm panicking because I having felt and wriggles since then. I'm going to get my doppler out later. I know I'm being ridiculous because I'm only 15+4 so wriggles aren't regular yet anyway. I can't help it though. I expect the rug to be pulled out from underneath me. I hope there comes a point where the worry subsides but I'm not sure there will be. I've booked another private scan for next week because it's another month until my 20 week scan and it's just too long to wait.i guess scanxiety it setting in too.

doleritedinosaur · 02/08/2016 08:35

Morning everyone.

Yay Kate that's brilliant news! Wouldn't worry about scrunched up, DS did that loads in scans & I was made to walk around a lot for further on scans. Hope you have an amazing holiday.

Purple don't say sorry, you're allowed to feel this way & it's helped me to type out how I'm feeling & process it. Hope they get back to you soon for an action plan.

I'm sure everything is okay Whatser, movements are so infrequent at those weeks.
What Doppler do you have? I'm thinking about getting one for a few weeks time.
Pregnancy pillows are brilliant, getting mine back out soon.

3 weeks until the dating scan & then we're going to tell more people & im allowed to order my "we're hoping for a dinosaur top."

Only seem to have heartburn at the moment which is annoying as now I miss the comfort of the nausea. Such swings & roundabouts.

Hope everyone has a good day & I'll cross my fingers for you Lynsey.

Whatsername17 · 02/08/2016 08:40

It's one I got on amazon. Angel something. It's great but when ever I get worried I just go into avoidance mode and don't use it!

doleritedinosaur · 02/08/2016 10:33

That's good about avoiding for anxiety.

I've seen a few on eBay so will wait until after scan or if I see a good one.

I'm never complaining about non nausea again. Had my head down the toilet & is now full force.
Want a grated cheese sandwich though, may see if it works.

purpleviolet1 · 02/08/2016 10:57

Saw the GP. She said to start a 3 day course in the meantime and she will try to contact the obstetrician. Not sure how urgently she will treat it to be honest.

Hopefully the urologist will call me when back from annual leave tomorrow. If I don't hear from her by tomorrow I'll phone her secretary again on Thursday.

Whatsername17 · 02/08/2016 11:22

At least the GP is doing something which is good. Hopefully the urologist will be more helpful. It might be worth speaking to your midwife as well. Get them all working on it.

purpleviolet1 · 02/08/2016 13:41

Thanks whatser. Don't even know if this pregnancy is viable yet! See what the bloods show. Results should be back tomorrow.

HopefulKate1980 · 02/08/2016 16:02

I'm crossing everything for you purple.

I'll catch up tonight on the thread. Hope you are all good. Xxx

Is it worth having a blood test, Mrs?

LuckyinOctober · 02/08/2016 19:23

Mrs I know it must be really confronting to keep seeing the brown, but could it be a good sign that it's not getting heavier? With My MCs, they started with brown discharge but it was pretty obvious stuff rather than light and it got heavier and darker both times until it was red over the space of a few days. Yours staying light and going away sometimes sounds different from what I had, and could maybe just be your irritated cervix? Have you called your clinic recently? Just wondering if talking it over with them would help. Like whats says a blood test might give you more info on where you are and hopefully reassure you too. Thoughts are with you, it's tough at the early stages Flowers - for me, it gets easier with each day that goes past without disaster striking xx

Lynsey is your scan today?

Purple sounds like at least you have a plan and some tablets to take in the meantime while your GP waits to get hold of the experts. Just on the point about expediting appointments, most NHS services I think have emergency as well as routine appointments, and while they might have allocated you a routine obstetric one, my thinking would be that they might bump it up to an emergency slot given the complexity of your past history and the possible time urgency to get the right treatment started. Sounds like you'll get more info tomorrow xx

precious mrs. Please don't worry. It sounds like it's just irritation from the Cyclogest? They are pretty powerful drugs BUT if you are worried and want to be checked out go to EPU and ask to be seen. Tell them it's causing you huge anxiety, you aren't sleeping, panicking etc (whatever you need to say). These places are here to help people like us and they want to. Don't take no for an answer. I'll PM you later but sending you so much love xxxx

I know. I totally totally understand. We probably won't relax until we have our little babies in our arms. If the nurse isn't worried that's a great thing. Don't fill the silences with presumptions cos you'll probably be wrong and cause yourself so much worry. I do exactly the same - every twinge and pull sends me into a meltdown. But today we are pregnant and we have to hold onto that. I'm always here for you. We have gone through the last 7 months of hell together, we can do the next 9 months!!

Xx

MissClarke86 · 02/08/2016 20:15

Mrs, I had some spotting when I used a tampon ( I know you're not supposed to but I was on a school trip with little loo access and was convinced I'd start bleeding!) which irritated my cervix for a couple of days. And the cramping/pulling is completely normal as the uterus changes. Deep breathes!

Evening all.
I had my scan and all is good. Measuring 12+4 so EDD is 10th Feb. Very happy and shed a few tears but I'm so relieved all is as it should be.

Whatsername17 · 02/08/2016 21:36

Congratulations, Lynsey! I've been waiting for your update! So glad it is good news xx

mikesh909 · 02/08/2016 21:38

So much sympathy for everyone in the early stages. Those first few weeks (IMHO) are so tough.

Purple, glad you got to see the GP today. Fingers crossed for further progress tomorrow.

Mrs, re. the cramps / twinges, in my experience they were similar to what I would describe as the beginnings of period pains? It's so hard to put something like that into words though, especially when you factor in anxiety. I spent a whole night convinced I was having an ectopic pregnancy c. 11 weeks, but too scared to even google the symptoms and then developed a further fictitious UTI a few weeks later. I guess what I'm saying is our minds have the capacity to make something minor and normal into something terrible and disastrous. I know that twinges and little pains are definitely normal but as to how to tell whether your anxious mind is magnifying things beyond reasons... Good question. I often hear to 'trust your body' and that if something was truly wrong, we would know. I guess it's good advice, but maybe whoever first said that didn't get how hard it is for women to 'trust their bodies' after (to some people's perception) their bodies have badly let them down. I don't know if any of that helps. Big respect for your positivity!

mikesh909 · 02/08/2016 21:39

Great news, Lynsey! Congratulations.

LadyLynsey · 02/08/2016 22:28

Thank you whatser and mike.
Didn't want to butt in and shout good news with serious discussions going on up thread. I was also at the hospital for a few hrs due to them running behind and then seeing the various staff, doing a wee sample and bloods etc.
Lady who did my scan was so lovely and even gave me my scan picture free. I'd not paid in advance just in case.
It's strange cos although I was nervous, I was 'ok' til I was called in and then I panicked. She spotted that instantly and as soon as the scanner was on my belly she said "see this, there's baby". I still asked if heartbeat was there though and that's when I cried. She stopped long enough for me to stop shaking (i shake terribly when I'm nervous) and then carried on and made comment to baby being a wriggler and not co-operating. Was lovely to hear and now it all seems so real.
I've now told everyone else and feel so much better for getting it out there. Phew Smile
