Anyone Pregnant and still breastfeeding?

I am 4 ish weeks pregnant so super early days and I am still BF my DD who is 11 months on demand. I am worried about how it will pan out. Coping with feeding aversion or my milk drying up before she is ready to stop. Just taking it one feed at a time at the moment but any advice or support or others in the same situation welcome!

I was still feeding DD when I first got pregnant (she was 15 months when we found out). It didn't seem to affect at first, but I started introducing cow's milk during the day at that point so I didn't have to pump at work whilst she was at nursery.

Around 18 weeks pregnant I think I dried up, and she started chewing me, it was so painful and she still wanted milk after. We stopped at that point, but she was totally happy with that and never really asked much after that.

If you want to carry on feeding through the pregnancy my suggestion is don't drop too many feeds! However it might be that if you let it it will naturally slow down and she will self wean. Do you have a preference?

I am. I'm 10/11 weeks (unsure on dates) and breastfeeding 13mo DD.

It's not going too badly at the minute, though I am getting quite sensitive. She bit me last night and I cried. We tried an attempt at night weaning last night; I managed not to feed her between midnight and 6 so that helped a little. Fingers crossed we can do it again tonight.

Hopefully we'll be able to carry on throughout my pregnancy. I have a friend who did, although her DD was older (she was just turned 2 when her sister was born). Part of me feels really guilty because if I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't be considering stopping any time soon.

I'm breastfeeding my 1 year old and am 14 weeks pregnant. Really would like to wean her off but cant cope with the tears so.hoping she self weans soon. No advice but you are not alone x

I don't have a burning desire to tandem feed but willing to take each day as it comes. She still feeds 2-3 times in the night and maybe 4 times in the day.

I just don't want my BF 'journey' with her to end in tears

20 weeks pregnant here and feeding my almost 2 year old :)

I was breastfeeding my daughter whilst pregnant and due in September (22 months between them) and she was a proper boob monster but I started to dry up and she was getting frustrated and started to bite and then had a night away from her in Feb and after that she didn't ask anymore.....it's strange, I was going to keep going until she turned two if I could but this was an easier way for her to self wean I think...she now eats more human food as she was reluctant before

I am sad however that our bf journey ended without much fanfare though....I didn't limit feeds as I didn't have to!

Delighted to see this thread and hopefully we can support each other through this journey I am 6+3 weeks pregnant and still breastfeeding my 19 month ds. He has no notion of giving up and so far it going ok. I am a little more sensitive at times. And I have read that between 4-5 months pregnant the milk might dry up so if that happens i am hoping he will be ok. Weaning at this stage will have to come from him.

I'm 12 weeks and still feeding my 15mo. Had really sore nipples early on and again at the moment. Had managed to only have through the night feeds but then the exhaustion kicked in and I've started feeding her to sleep again because I can't face walking with her! She's cutting 4 teeth just now so wants to feed all the time but I'm going to have to refuse through the day so my nipples can recover a bit. I'm the same as you happy, just taking it as it come, don't specifically want to tandem but don't not want to either

Evans that's why I had to refuse last night. She's teething and when she's tired her latch is shit anyway. Keeps slipping and catching me with teeth

I have just posted a new question on this very topic! I am still feeding my two year old and I am slightly worried about the constant breastfeeding as I had a mc in March. I don't think they were related (I can only hope not) but I have read that it's wise to wean if you are at a mc risk. I don't know if having one unexplained mc even puts me in the high risk category, but I am generally worried and yet don't want to sacrifice my bond with my DC1 for the sake of something in the future as much as we all really would like a dc2.
It will be good for us all to stay in touch. I am about five weeks pregnant today.

I don't think BF and mc's are at all related. I had an mc before I was pregnant with DD. Sadly 1 in 4 pregnancies end that way, for most ladies who suffer them it's just bad luck. Nothing you or anytime else did or didn't do.

I don't have any nipple sensitivity yet, but I also think my DD caused long term nerve damage to my nipples! I only feed one side and my other side is quite badly scarred from a mastitis abscess so I think there is nerve damage there too.... My poor boobs!

Same. Breastfeeding 11 months old and 11 weeks pregnant. He is a breast monster too and has almost got me swearing at times due to pain. Last couple of days has been horrible because he just chomps and chomps probably because there isn't much milk as I also have bad sickness. It didn't help that he has 8 teeth and i think about to sprout another one because he sometimes uses the teeth to control me - ouch.
So taking it one day at a time but going back to work in 3 weeks time including night shifts so he'd have no choice at that point. He eats proper quality food though so part if me feels it's a comfort thing rather than hunger. Initially felt guilty too but way past that as just soo exhausted and in pain.

I gave up at 20 weeks as it got really painful in the second trimester. I did find the vitamin b6 helped somewhat initially.

I got pregnant at the same stage as you and continued breastfeeding until no. 1 was about 15 months old. She tries to feed once a week or so now and milk hasn't dried up (or it has come back in prep for the next baby's imminent arrival?). However she loves cows milk in a bottle so that's worked well. I think stopping was definitely harder for me than for her!

I got pg when DD was 16mo and recently night weaned, only feeding morning, nap time and before bed. Those second two feeds were already short, just to help her off to sleep. Over the following months we dropped the morning, then nap time, and stopped completely at about 4 and half months pregnant. So as far as I know, even feeding that little I didn't dry up and there was no aversion to a change in taste. The nipple sensitivity I had at the start of pregnancy came back ten-fold by about 3 months and it was too painful to carry on.
