Hi ladies im just wondering if anyone else has been for a early scan and the sonographer has turned around and said 'you're not out of the woods for twins' it's left me baffled and confused and a tad shocked this is not my first pregnancy it's actually my 4th and I've had early scan with all and never had a comment like this ?!i have another scan booked for Monday and I'm feeling rather nervous about it Blush

I don't have any advice but find that a silly thing to say and not explain. I'm presuming she means you could be expecting twins but she's not sure? How far along are you? Did you see a healthy baby in there?
I had a private scan this week at 8+3 and the lady thoroughly checked for any hiding babies! We quite obviously saw there was just the one.

We were told at at our early scan that the sonographer could see one fetus, but advised us that it's not uncommon at this stage for a second fetus to be 'hiding' behind the visible one. Think they might just have to say that to prepare you for multiples? We went back 4 weeks later and there is only one fetus. Good luck x

I had this said to me at my first scan, but I think it was only because I mentioned twins running in my family. Don't worry, he or she is correct that you can't be sure until the 12 week scan if there are twins.
