Talk to me about breech babies

I'm 40 + 3 and was sent for a growth scan today as they thought the baby was going to be big.

Despite being told baby is head down and engaged, it turns out baby is actually breech with the ability to move to transverse.

My DH is at home due to childcare issues and I'm waiting in the hospital.

Hand hold needed please!

Any experiences of breech babies welcomed as I have zero idea of what's happening next Confused

Thinking of you Flossie hope all went well.

My DD also had a head dent that took a few months to go.

I second taking all the painkillers you are offered as far better to prevent any pain than wait until it arrives and have to deal with it. Another couple of tips not mentioned that I found useful is to use your DH's arm to pull yourself up rather than getting him to do it for you as you can control the speed much better. Also have a complete changing kit upstairs and downstairs so you don't have to go far for nappy changes.

Hope everything goes well! Good advice here. Also get set up for changing at table height for a while, I used the top of a chest of drawers. We had also planned to put moses basket on floor so bought a stand for it.

Update: our beautiful daughter has arrived weighing a more than respectable 9lb 10oz. Much smaller than estimated but still pretty good!

She's so beautiful and I can't stop staring.

Thanks for all the advice, hand holding and tips. It made it much easier for me to deal with.
