My bump keeps clicking [confused]!

I am 38+3 today. Over the past couple of days, I have been hearing a clicking/popping sound coming from my bump when the baby is active. It only usually happens once per wriggle session, and not every time, but maybe half a dozen or more times in a day.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this and if I should be concerned?

Oh mine does this too. I will wait to see what someone knowledgeable says.

I'm fairly sure I remember this with DC1 - nothing untoward happened!

Mine is doing this as well (36+3), i assumed it was my pelvis??

Hiccups! Baby not you:)

Hi - had this constantly with DD1 who is nearly 10. When she was born her index finger and middle finger were a bit red - turned out she had been sucking them relentlessly! No harm done although she did end up with a dummy as she was using my nipple as one! May not be this but I can remember worrying that she had a clicky hip or something - it was just loud sucking!

I had this too! It never happened when anyone else was there and I was told by DH that I was crazy Hmm

Thanks for all the replies. I had a google, and it seems that it is not an uncommon phenomenon, judging by all the results it throws up, but that no-one really knows why it happens!

Both DH and I have very clicky joints, so maybe baby has inherited the same, although this sounds like a 'wetter' sort of pop. Who knows? At least it doesn't appear to be anything sinister.

My bump clicked a lot in the last few weeks - not hiccups but proper click noises! DS3 is 4 days old and does not click at all so I'm not sure what he was up to in there!

The explanation that made sense for me was that it was baby's joints clicking as with my first if only happened when she was doing some massive movements. I did read that it can be an indication of joint problems but dd is fine. Second baby has clicked but nothing like the first, although we were a pretty quiet family before I started having babies so maybe I just noticed more with dd.

Hee Hee my little boy did this. He's now a happy healthy 15 month old. No idea what it was but it was totally fine. Smile
