Hi all,

Hoping someone an help me here. I had an ultrasound scan this morning to give me some reassurance as I've had some brown spotting. By the dates I have calculated (based on OPKs and ovulation pains and previously negative tests) I should be 7+6. When they scanned me they saw a gestational sac of 14mm with no contents suggesting I am a lot earlier than I thought.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this situation? I had a good strong +ve HPT 4 weeks ago so surely my dates can't be this wrong?! Really hoping for some positive stories after I've convinced myself otherwise.

Rescan in a fortnight's time.

That early a scan, a millimetre of error either way from the sonographer can make a huge difference. Easy to say I know, but really try not to worry.

Hi,

I had a similar scan result last week. I as 6+6 but the scan showed a gestational sac of 11mm which is around 5+4.

I had IVF so know my dates to the minute, so deep down DH and I know this is going to be very bad news. We are devastated.

We have a forward up scan on Thursday this week when I should be 8 weeks.

It might not be so cut and dry with you though as you may have ovulated later than you think and implantation may have been delayed too.

When is your follow up scan?

X

Unfortunately I had an early scan with my last pregnancy and it measured smaller than it should be. They tried to say my dates might be wrong but I knew exactly when I conceived. In the end I had to go back for rescans and it wa found to have stopped developing so I had a ERPC.

I don't mean to panic you, I just think it's only fair you get a fair picture. I hope everything works out for you.
