Is anybody else starting to feel a bit.... panicky?

I am 26yo and 25 weeks pregnant with my first (surprise baby!) We are looking to move house next month and im suddenly panicking about how much we will have to do in so little time and how clueless i am. We havent bought any of the big furniture items because there doesnt seem to be any point before we move.

Its after midnight and ive just pulled everything weve got out of storage to count it in a hormonal state of stressed madness!

I think somewhere along the lines somebody told me you can never have too many vests or sleepsuits and a quick tally shows weve amassed over 30 of each. My partner is bemused by the whole thing but i feel woefully unprepared and like i want the entire nursery organised now (which is completely our of character!)

Anybody else in the same boat? Is this the beginning of nesting mode?

Im 23 weeks with my third child. The house is in a state of being 'fixed' do we can sell. So we are rushing to get every thing done before baby is here but we only a certain amount of money every month to do it with. We havnt even got a pram yet!

I'm a planner and things ain't going to plan so I'm just closing my eyes and letting Dh deal with it. It will happen but it will be by the skin of our teeth 😬

You've 30 sleepsuits and vests? You're sorted for autumn /winter (assuming they are of increasing size) and you wont have to do any washing for ten days.

Just lay in supplies of Lanolin (if bf) and Bepanthen for sore bums.. Later, Sudacrem is fine.

Infacol is gold for colic, but I only needed it once. Mine mostly winded fine.

And muslin squares- a hotly debated topic on here - but i like them. Good for protection on the old shoulder whilst winding.

Don't stress! You have LOADS of time still. Totally agree that no point getting anything sorted til you've moved. We moved when I was 31 weeks and I hadn't got one thing out before then. Am now 36 weeks and still not ready but not going to send my blood pressure up over it! We'll be fine, worst case scenario we'll muddle through and do a bit of emergency last-minute shopping. Babies hardly need anything anyway. You're well on track!

Oh my God, I'm so glad you posted this. We are redecorating the entire house and it's been stressing me out too. We have 2 cats and both got fleas and I went mad de-fleeing everything and crying like a banshee. Yesterday I had a total meltdown. I'm 27 weeks. I do think it's hormonal because when I look at it rationally there is no real reason to be so upset, but at the time it felt like the end of the world! Lol! I guess people focus on the house because if we thought about the enormity of being parents we might freak out even more! Anyway, you are not alone. :-)

Thanks for the advice and support ladies. I told the lady in a shop yesterday i was due in october and moving in august and she looked at me like id grown an extra head! Good to know i'm not alone!

Could I just recommend nappies from Aldi? Having spent four years using pampers I'm converted.

But don't buy loads of nappies, you don't know what will suit your baby and trust me it's a real pain if you have a box of 130 and they leak.

30 vests is loads, all you need is sleep suits to go with them. That's all they need to wear in the first few weeks or months. And a hat for outdoors.

Don't stress, I didn't finish packing my bag until the day I went in to labour!

Less than 9 weeks until my due date. DC2, completely planned but difficult pregnancy and MIL died 2 weeks ago so DH has basically checked out of life. Nothing done. DS is still in the cot bed. Forgot to book onto any of the classes. Have a few sleepsuits and vests but nothing to put them in. Sheer terror is probably the right term.

Can I join the ill prepared club? 29wks, house is a building site, still got stuff from DS1 but it's still in mixed up vac packs in the loft, the Moses basket it covered in dust and needs a mattress. The only thing that's ready is I cleaned the car seat!

37 weeks tomorrow. Baby's room looks lovely, rest of the house is a tip! I want to be ferociously nesting, but I've got PGP and have been feeling rubbish over the weekend (and we both work full time, so rarely feel up to doing much in the evenings)!

Still need to pack my hospital bag too!

This thread is making me feel better!! I'm 34 weeks with #2, moving house (hopefully) this week or next. Literally have nothing except the stuff saved from last DS, and that's all in boxes in the garage. Can't even get my head round packing hospital bags or sorting nursery until I've moved!

I'm finding making (then deleting and remaking) hundreds of lists is helpful to calm me down!

From my experience, as long as you have the following, you'll be fine:
-clothes (you have... Check!) and hats
-changing stuff (mat, nappies, cotton wool, cream and nappy bags)
-nipple cream (lansinoh) and anything for formula feeding if you're planning to
-something for baby to sleep in (Moses basket or carrycot.. You can get cot later) and bedding
-car seat
-sling/pushchair
-breast pads and maternity sanitary pads (glamorous)
-muslins (not essential, but very useful)

But don't rush. You've got plenty of time! Lists help me to feel calm. Maybe make one with deadlines so you feel more relaxed?

We don't even have a room for new baby, so you're probably one up on us!! Good luck with the move xx

34 weeks in middle of renovations, every spare second is spent trying to get the house ready.. Still no bathroom! Work full time (my work is pretty stressful too) and commute as does husband I'm working up to 38 weeks as we need the money. Only just started buying stuff now and have bought probably things I don't need.. Obviously I haven't got main essentials like pram or car seat.. Agh!! And I'm utterly exhausted. Hey we will all be fine!!

Well my DH must be stalking me on here, because he came home yesterday and did the first coat of paint on the baby's room! . It's... erm... pink. And when I say pink, I mean PINK. DS picked it. He's going through a Peppa phase. It didn't look quite so fluorescent bright on the tin!!

All we had was carseat, pram, cot and some stuff for washing/changing for DS. Ended up sending DH to mothercare, while we were still in hospital,with list as DS was tiny and didn't fit any of his clothes. Underestimated amount of maternity pads etc as was in hospital longer than anticipated and poor DH had to get them too! Would like to say I'm more organised this time at 28 weeks but keep telling myself got plenty of time...

27 weeks, we have a pram/car seat thingy, and nothing else. We were planning on moving so didn't want to buy anything until afterwards, but our chain has just fallen through.... Can't decide what to do, we're keeping our flat on the market, but don't know how long to wait until we decide that we'll have to stay put in the short term. Definitely getting into the panic stage as our flat isn't very baby friendly, is a long way from family and a 2 hour drive from my husbands new job! (He's just finished a PhD, applied for jobs close to where we were supposed to be moving to....)

I'm 33 weeks, house is a bomb site as we've just renovated currently sleeping on the floor of the spare room while we paint our bedroom.

We bought all the major things a week ago because I had a massive stress attack/ hysterical crying meltdown we now have a back room full of boxes because there is no where to actually put the furniture?!

For my hospital bag I have maternity pads that I threw in with the weekly shop at some point?!

We dont have any nappies, baby socks, q car seat, nursery furniture or nipple cream but i bought a playmate with a giant giraffe attached today....

Way behind you at 19 weeks but we move on Friday and our entire home is going into storage and we're moving into my mum's whilst our new home is renovated - boiler, kitchen, bathroom, Windows, doors, complete redecoration & putting in a utility room (no washing machine until that's done lol). No start date from builder yet and an estimated 8-12 week renovation period.

Fourth child for us but my second & my partners third... I have a few bits left over from DS (stored at my mums) but we have nothing else and no plans to buy anything yet either!

As long as you have a few clothes, nappies and a car seat you can get the rest really quickly! We know we'll get lots of stuff given to us once we move too so leaving it late means you don't buy stuff you won't need!

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and I've been asked numerous times if I've packed my hospital bag yet... They all seem so shocked when I say that I haven't, I'm still not even going to think about it until next month
