I'm 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant and I've been having really bad sharp pains which get worse when I move or need the toilet! I've been having no bleeding or spotting and I've been told that it could just be bad pains from the placenta moving and everything growing but I'm really worried as I'm at high risk of something going wrong as at 12 week scan the fluid at the back of my babies neck was high and with my bloods I have a 1 in 5 chance of the baby have downs syndrome and a 4 in 10 chance of the baby having a heart problem! I'm just really worried! But on the scans baby looked very active and heart sounded great! Are these pains normal?

Hi chick,

I've been experiencing this recently and have a suspected kidney infection which I have antibiotics for.

It's definitely worth getting your urine checked as the pain can be quite severe when they're left and it could possibly be that :)

I was going to suggest uti/kidney infection. Your pregnancy is high risk, you are in pain and worried. Get yourself to a walk in centre and get checked out. The quicker you act, the better you will feel physically and emotionally. Flowers
