Breastfeeding during pregnancy

8/9 weeks pregnant with second baby, breastfeeding 13 month old DD. Dear god the sensitivity! Every time she latches on it's almost like she's a newborn again except now she has the suction power of a Dyson and bloody teeth.

Anyone else pregnant and breastfeeding? It would be nice to know I'm not alone

DD decided to self-wean when I was about 16w pregnant. Apparently it's common at that stage because the milk changes in consistency and taste. I'd dropped down to one evening feed by then, as she was 22m. I'd always said I'd keep it up as long as we were both happy with it, but I was v relieved she wanted to stop as I didn't want to do it heavily pregnant, or tandem feed plus wanted a break between babies! Good luck - the sensitivity did get better towards the end, I promise!

Not anymore, but fed DC1 till third trimester with DC2, and it took all I had - it became so very painful and uncomfortable. Somewhere in the second trimester my milk supply just dwindled and poor DC1 would suckle like mad but get little if anything.....I was out of my mind with the pain, powered through as long as I could then weaned DC1 off...felt bad about it, but did the best I could for as long as I could. DC1 was about 20mths then.

I'm hoping she won't wean for a good while yet (even though feeding her is so love/hate right now). If I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't even consider weaning her at the minute.

I'm just over 7 weeks and still breastfeeding my 18 month old. It's painful on and off but bearable at the moment. It's worse if she falls asleep on the boob and loses her latch but normal feeds are fine once she's on. Think my nipples are made of rubber! She's a dedicated milk monster so I can't imagine her self weaning. I'm just going to go with what she wants.
